Key lock inop, random wipers, squealing radio

3.8, 119K miles

1. The wipers come on at random times and don't always shut off when switched off.

2. The original FM radio has not worked in a while. AM radio works fine. Casette deck works fine. The volume knob doesn't work. System puts out a squeal from the rear right speaker most of the time. (I really want to replace the whole radio).

3. Driver side key lock does not lock/unlock with key. I have to access van through passenger side to unlock doors. There's a rattling sound from driver side door lock at the 15 mph auto-lock-speed.

4. Locks have a mind of their own. I use the key to unlock the doors, then they all lock again. Picture me standing outside the van saying, "Unlock!" and the van says, "No, lock!", repeat 5 times. I have to hold the key in the unlock position while openning the door (they will auto lock again once I release the key). Once I reach in and hit the switch to unlock everything, they will stay unlocked. Driver side sliding door lock does not respond to auto-lock - requires a reach inside to manually flip it up.

Thanks in advance!

SOURCE: power door locks do not work

the reason the locks dont work more then likely there is a code stored in the bcm for a lock output circuit normally caused by one if not both of the sliding door acuators. even if you change the acuators the locks still will not work until the code is cleared.

SOURCE: loud squealing noise

Probably a belt getting loose or worn. If alternator has a separate one than the rest, try just tightening it up. My guess is that it's probably all one belt with a tensioner pulley, which means you can't tighten, (spring tension already applied by tensioner) you have to change the belt, to get rid of noise, and if noise comes back in short time, think about changing tensioner.

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Durango Front Brake Squeal

Did you buy factory pads or get cheap aftermarket pads? If aftermarket did you get the ceramic? The cheap aftermarket ones tend to squeal pretty bad. Like the last comment on here, you should have your rotors turned whenever you change the pads.

2005 Tahoe rear windshield wiper inoperative in dash panel position 1or2

Rear Wiper/Washer System Components
The rear wiper/washer system consists of the following components:
• Rear wiper/washer switch
• Window wiper module-rear
• Window washer pump-rear
• RR WIPER 15A fuse
• RR WPRB 25A fuse
Rear Wiper/Washer System Operation
The rear wiper module controls rear wiper motor operation. Battery voltage supplied to the module is used to operate the wiper motor in all modes and to return the rear wiper arm to the park position after the ignition is turned off. Accessory voltage supplied to the rear wiper/washer switch is used to supply the rear window wiper and washer switch signal circuits. In wiper switch positions 1 and 2 the wiper switch signal circuit voltage level to the wiper motor module determines the wiper motor delay interval. The rear window washer pump supply voltage circuit is used to provide the operating voltage for the rear washer pump for as long as the rear washer switch is pressed. The rear window washer switch signal circuit is used as a wash signal to the rear wiper motor module to operate the wipers during the rear wash operation.

On the sceen to the radio of my 1998 Chevolet Venture it says "LOC" what does that mean?? I just bought the van and it wont start at all and thats they only thing that is wrong with it. Please...

Hi , LOC means radio is locked....1. You can retrieve a set of factory numbers in the radio that enable you to get a unlock code . If it says INOP you will have to leave the key in the ON position or let the car run for at least an hour before you attempt any unlock procedure .INOP means a secondary theft lock due to too many attempts to unlock radio........2. look at the face of your radio and hold down the preset buttons 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 ( depending on year and model , if 1+4 don't work use 2+3, ) for about 10 seconds or until a set of 2 or 3 numbers come up on the display. Write these numbers down.......3. Next press the AM/FM button, a new set of numbers will now show. Write these numbers down. You will then need to call an 1-800 no. with the numbers you have written down to get the unlock code. Try calling a GM dealer and ask them to do it for you, or some sites on internet will get for you for a fee.....4. Once you have the unlock code enter it by pressing the MIN button until display shows the last 2 digits of the unlock code, then press the HR button until the first 2 digits of of unlock code are shown. Then press the AM/FM button to enter the code. The radio will now display SEC and normal function is restored.

Radio locked on 2001 saturn sl2

Press & hold the 2 & 3 buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will appear, write this # down, press & hold the am/fm button for about 10 seconds: another code will appear, write this # down, then call 1-800-537-5140 and enter 202108 (this is a dealer code - you can use one of the others below, too) followed by the # key, then enter the numbers that you wrote down, followed by the * key.
The call will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code. Write this code down so you have it if you ever need it again. Enter this number into your radio following the instructions in your owners manual.

Note: If you get an override code that starts with 0, you drop the 0 when entering the code into your radio.

If you don't have an owners manual, then press & hold the hour button until the first 2 digits of your code come up, then press & hold the minute button until the last 2 digits show. Then press the am/fm button.
Repeat step #5 twice in a row it will disable the Theftlock and you will see "---". You will then be able to change to a new lock code.

IMPORTANT - Other dealer codes: 139010, 206053 and 620529 - these may be inactive by now; GM will remove them from time to time if they feel that they are "compromised".

Also - there are 2 modes to the TheftLock - "LOC" or "SEC" and "INOP". Once the anti-theft is activated, the radio display will show "LOC" or "SEC" - you then have 8 attempts to enter your code. If after 8 attempts you don't enter the correct code, the display will change to "INOP". It is only at this time that you will need to wait one hour, with the ignition ON; before you can retry. After that - you will have only 3 attempts before the radio enters "INOP" mode again.

My Theft Lock is stuck on and now it is in InOP stage

I suffered the same problem. Turn your ignition key to the ON position for 1 hour. This will reset the double lock feature on the radio to prevent theft. Once you leave your ignition key on for 1 hour, turn the key to the off position. Remove the key. Then turn the ignition key back to the ON position. You should then see "LOC" instead of "InOp". Then try the steps to enter your code again. Three incorrect tries will enable the double lock feature again, and you will have to repeat these steps to reset it.

Two Things: Wipers randomly don't work at all, or go too long and fuel gauge not working.

Hi chuck. I red your problem.
I anderstand your problem is electrical.

OK.On Chevy wiper motors have a defect " I called"
But the problem is the Wiper module or Wiper board,
That goes inside of the wiper motor. it's cost on dealer about $ 40 or around 20 to 35 on Autoparts.
Is easy to replace it. no need to take out the wiper motor.
Just remove the little torx screw on the black tap and take out
You will see the module.
I hope this work for you.
