Battery cables together ??
If the security light is on, the system has disabled the starter and the fuel injectors.
The problem would be a faulty chip in the key, the sensor in the lock cylinder, or the VATS module.
If the security light is not on, it could be the neutral safety switch.

SOURCE: 99 Olds Intrigue, blower fan resistor

It will burn out. Air flow in the heater box cools the resistor. These resistors get very hot when the blower is running.

SOURCE: How do I change the rear spark plugs on a 1998 Olds Intrigue?

if they unscrew easy then your good to go. have you ever changed plugs before? sometimes if they are hard to get to you need the right socket extension, swivels. probably the best tip i can give you is that if a plug doesnt come out leave it in, it costs lots of money to get a stuck plug out of engine. let me know if you need help

SOURCE: How to 'bleed' the coolant in a 99 Olds Intrigue?

where the top radiator hose goes into the top of the engine is where the bleeder is up on top of where the hose goes in. mine is a copper like flathead screw looking thing ! fill the radiator and loosen the bleeder a little and wait for the coolant to start spraying a straight stream of coolant out of the bleeder! hope this helps!

1994 dodge shadow es 3.0 v6 will not start. when I turn the key I can hear one single click then nothing. All lights work, replaced starter, checked battery terminals and wires for corrosion, fly whee

Replace the starter solenoid. Make sure you hook the wires back properly. Try jumping across the solenoid with cables to see the starter crank. That makes a direction to the starter. That's what the solenoid does. It connects those 2 cable ends together to make the starter crank over.

I have a 1991 chrvy silverado 1500 and the starter engages whenever the battery is hooked up i been told the ignition switch any ideas where that is or what it could be

i had the same problem on my 90 half ton, it is more than likley the starter has stuck in the engaged position. There are contacts inside of the solenoid that can in effect weld themselves together. Try giving the starter a tap with a hammer, (don't go crazy but give it a good whack) if you cant reach use a piece of pipe or something to get down to the starter. Hit on the body of the starter,(the big part) not the solenoid. Then hook the battery back up and see what happens. If it starts with the key like normal, change the starter. If it still turns over when you hook the battery up get under the truck (after you disconnect the battery) and disconnect the battery cable (large red wire) from the starter to the battery and tie it away from any metal. Hook the battery back up and get back under and find the small wire on the starter. With the key off use a test light or meter to check for voltage on the small wire. If there is power there with the key off it could be the ignition switch. If there is no power, change the starter. Keep in mind that if the starter is as old as the truck it may break when you try to get the battery cable off of it, but if it does thats another sign that the starter/solenoid is the cause of your problems. If you don't feel comfortable testing anything just take the starter off and take it somewhere, lots of places will test it for free.

1988 460 motorhome starting problem

When its hooked up, you should be able to put 12 volts on the little stud on the solenoid and it should start. One large stud will have 12 volts on it, so just jump it right there. Did you get the wires in the right place. The solenoid should have 1 large wire going down to the starter. Be sure the battery cables are clean and tight ( both ends) Check battery voltage when cranking, should go to 10-11 volts. Check voltage between negative terminal on battery and engine, should be ZERO when cranking. The solenoid has 2 large studs, make sure the battery positive wire and all the other wires are hooked to this stud, the other large stud should just have the wire going to the starter.
