I OWN A 2010 LINCOLN MKX. I BOUGHT IT COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND IT MAKES A NOISE WHEN IT IS IN REVERSE AND MOVING

IT IS A LIMITED EDITION MODEL WITH AWD. I DRIVE IT DAILY

I would check the emergency brake to see if it is sticking.

This could be caused by the transmission range selector switch on the tranny, no sure how without the wiring diagram, but seems to ring a bell from my 20 years at a ford delaer.

the range switch on the trans maybe bad. its usually right twhere the linkage attaches from the shifter to the trans. But I would recommend a garage that does FORD work to ck it for you. You could guess and replace a lot of uneeded parts.

The regulator is bad. Stretched cables, worn gears. You would have to remove the column bezels and the headliners to access the sun roof window. Replace the whole thing as you can't buy one without the other.

Things to check (in order of likelihood):
  1. Fluid level and condition in rear differential;
  2. Drive shaft center bearing;
  3. Rear outer bearings;
  4. Front bearings (have they been packed with grease in the past three years?);
