SOURCE: replacing timing belt on daewoo nubira 2000 model

Instructions Difficulty: Moderate Things You’ll Need:

  • Set of ¼-inch drive sockets ¼-inch drive ratchet Set of ½-inch drive sockets ½-inch drive ratchet Set of 3/8-inch drive sockets 3/8-inch drive ratchet Set of metric wrenches Floor jack Jack stands
Step1 Raise and support the vehicle on jack stands. Remove the intake air temperature wiring, the breather hose and intake air hose. Take off the air cleaner assembly. Step2 Remove the right wheel. Remove the accessory belts. Remove the crankshaft bolt and the crankshaft pulley. Remove the power steering bolts and the timing belt covers. Temporarily install the crankshaft bolt and turn the engine clockwise until the mark on the crankshaft pulley, which is a triangle stamped into the crank sprocket, is aligned with the corresponding triangular mark on the block. Step3 Make sure that the timing marks are aligned on the camshaft sprockets. These are a line on each sprocket that runs through a tooth on each sprocket. These lines should line up in the middle between each sprocket and point toward each other. If they do not line up, turn the crankshaft one more time and they will line up. It takes two turns of the crank to one complete revolution of the cam. Step4 Loosen the water pump bolts; using the 3/8-inch ratchet, turn the water pump clockwise away from the belt and loosely tighten the bolts to keep it there. Remove the timing beltmag-glass_10x10.gif. Make sure the timing marks are aligned and install the new belt starting on the right side from the crank sprocket and working counterclockwise. Keep all the belt tension on the right side away from the tensioner. Step5 Loosen the bolts in the water pump and rotate the water pump counterclockwise to apply tension to the belt. Watch the tensioner, which is above the water pump, and apply tension with the water pump until the pointer on the tensioner lines up with the notch above it. Lightly tighten the water-pump bolts. Step6 Turn the engine two more times and align the timing marks perfectly. Loosen the water-pump bolts and, using the ratchet, apply tension to the belt until the tensioner pointers are aligned. Tighten the water-pump bolts. Step7 Install the timing-belt covers and the bolts in the power-steering pump and tighten. Remove the crankshaft bolt and install the crank pulley and the bolt, then torque the crankshaft pulley bolt to 70 foot pounds of torque. Install all components in reverse order of removal.

How to fix high aidla speed on Daewoo nubira 1998?

High idle speed on any fuel injected car engine ussually means an intake air leak or faulty idle speed motor, but maybe faulty coolant temp switch, check if coolant level in radiator is to top of neck ONLY OPEN RADITOR WHEN ENGINE IS COLD, this is for personal safety. Get a trigger spray bottle of water and spray around all parts of the inlet manifold if leak evident rgine should run slightly rough. other poss prob could be brake booster faulty or booster one way faulty or hose split. Good luck.

No interior heat in my 2000 daewoo nubira

3 possible issues here,

the first is that your thermostat is stuck open, when this happens the air will barely be warm, luke warm at best, replacing the thermostat will fix this problem

the second, is that you have low coolant levels, when your coolant levels are way low, your heater core doesn't get the proper amount of coolant (if any) and the system blows cold air instead of heated air.

The third and final possibility, is that your heater core has clogged up (usually happens when stop leak or some type of radiator sealant is used) when this happens you can feel warm air when accelerating (test this by gently reving the vehicle and holding the rpm's when it is in park and holding your hands over the defrost vent to check for heat.

If you can tell me what symptom your vehicle is having I can help with instruction on how to fix it thanks [email protected]
