I have a Mazda 6 2009 with advanced keyless ignition. I am not getting any response when I push the start button or when I put in the auxillary key and push the start button. I don't think the battery is dead, so any advice?

SOURCE: dead battery cannot open car door with key - 2000 mazda mellenia

this is a common problem with only using a key fob to get in.you should use the key once in a while to keep it free and operational.

spray some W-D40 in the key hole let it sit for a little while the try to put the key in the door and turn it back and foward untill it starts to move this may take a few minutes or 15min to unlock it but alittle bit of patience and tired fingers and hands and you'll be in.(after you get the lock free try using the key more often to save your self the head ache down the road)

SOURCE: 1999 Mazda Millennia S - My keyless remote stopped

If the dash lights are not turning on, then it's probably a bad battery or battery connection. Also check the fuses. Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: My mazda 6 2.3L wont

This is an indication that you have a bad or loose connection at the battery. Check the cable ends on the battery and clean them of any green looking stuff. Make sure all connection are tight at the battery.

Testimonial: "Wow you were 100% correct. awsome... the cables were corroded from the terminals about 7 inches through my positives and negative. appreciate it boss."

I have lost my smart remote key for my Mazda CX-9 2011. Can I program a new one myself?

You may need 2 keys to do this, possibly just one. My source does not specify if 1 key will work but here is the procedure i found
With two programmed advanced keys
  1. Bring the programmed advanced keys (2) and a unprogrammed advanced key into the vehicle.
  2. Close all doors.
  3. Insert the supplementary key into the ignition key cylinder. NOTE:
  • Complete the procedures up to Step 7 within 30 s after the supplementary key is inserted.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Press the UNLOCK button on advanced key 1.
  3. Press the UNLOCK button on advanced key 2.
  4. From the ignition switch in the ON position, switch the ignition switch in the order indicated below.
  • ACC->ON->ACC->ON->ACC->ON
  1. Open the driver-side front door, press the door switch twice , and then close the door. NOTE:
  • After Step 3 is completed and the advanced key programming mode is activated, the door lock actuator operates to lock, and then operates to unlock.
  • If the door lock actuator does not operate, repeat the procedure from Step 2.
  1. Press the UNLOCK button on the unprogrammed advanced key twice . NOTE:
  • After Step 8 is completed and the advanced key is programmed, the door lock actuator operates to lock, and then operates to unlock.
  1. If programming more advanced keys, remove the supplementary key once, and then repeat the procedure from Step 2.

Central locking sometimes works/not works, this is in last few days. Has push button ignition but last few days it won't even turn over and the push button area turns red along with the right hand side...

Make sure your battery cables are tight, even the smaller wires to the hot side. Maybe a keyless entry transponder battery has gone dead or usually a disconnected wiring plug. Read your error codes if there are any to see what connector plug it might be. Usually happens after accident, off road incident, flood or body work.

How do I program a transponder key for Mazda6

You will have to take the vehicle to a Mazda agent and ask them to program a transponder key for your car. Every key is specially programmed for a particular vehicle according to its VIN number.

Ignition key wont come out

Hi, we had the same thing happen, for us the ignition barell had "collapsed" internally holding the key in place - you might be able release the key by hitting the underside of the steering column while trying to extract the key - however it sounds like a replacement will be needed, due to the age of the car you should be able to source one from a car wreckers cheaply, make sure you get the keys with the new barrell.
