2006 chevy cobalt woulnt start lock light is on

lights and everything come on but when i try to start there is a clicking sound and nothing happens it wont start or anything

When key is turned on to start the car, the accessories light up, radio works, lights come on; but the engine does not turn over. The only sounds that are heard are clicks in groups of two.

when I was climbing a mountain the doors on the car randomly started to lock and unlock. The RPM started to rive up as if the gears were changing on their own.

under the radio it says the passenger airbag is off. i dont see any way to turn it back on.

Are you using the original key that came with the car? The chip in that key may have gone bad. Try using the spare key that should have come with the purchase of the car. You may also be having battery issues. If all else fails....call the people who really know how to rape you...DUM Dum dummmmm....the dealer

I think the wheel is locked up, all you have to do is try to turn the wheel while you crank

2006 Chevy Cobalt SS. How to get past the antitheft system on it please.

A nice simple answer, you can't. Think of it this way, the car doesn't know you are the owner, and it is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You have two computer ECM and BCM, plus the antitheft module and a number of sensors all trying to stop you. All you have to do is the re-learn procedure. Plan B is an auto electrician or alarm / radio installer or auto locksmith.

30 Minute Re-Learn Procedure

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds .

07 Chevy Cobalt: Radio back-lighting never turns off.

Newer cars come with a switches that delays their shut down of certain lights on the car. Sometime they allow you to get inside your home before the turn off but sometimes the switches malfunction and you light never turns off. I have had this happen on my 2006 vehicle several times in the past. Maybe these kind of switches one day will get a little better. Chevy Cobalt - Battery saver light is on and the car won't start.

A couple days ago, my ignition went out on my car, (or so I thought), because my key wouldnt come out, and it would only turn back half way. Luckily, I had a spare key made to my car so i would use that to get in my car after I manually locked it. And it was good for a few days. Then one morning when I went to get into my car for work, it wouldnt start. A couple lights came on my dash that read "battery saver mode" and "engine power reduced". Then the security light came on (a little lock with a car picture flashed). And it started clicking and whining. My next thought was WTF?! So I woke my boyfriend up, we charged the car (battery is in the trunk if u didnt know) And it kinda started. The car was jumping all over and puttin and spuddering. We both knew their had to be way for the key to come out of the car, it was recognizing it was in park, and i would move the steering wheel and nothing. Well, under the steering wheel, theres a little cover, take that off, and put your finger up in that hole, you`ll feel a button, push that and your key will come right now. I started my car after that, and everything was normal!!! It still gets stuck in the ignition, but this is my temp. fix untill i get the money to get a new ignition =)

I have a 2006 chevy cobalt and the lock lite is on on the display dash and the car wont start .Also the radio and dash functions wont come on. I live in the bahamas and we dont have access to a chevy...

you will need to do a security relearn.
1.turn key to on position and leave on
2.after 10 minutes the light will flash and go out turn the key on to off 3x then leave on again.
3. do this 3 times for 30 minutes then after 30 minutes your 3rd time and after turning the key 3 times the 4th time start the car. it should start right up.

Car will not start-battery is fine

Try this Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. Your theft light should go out. As long as the light is on your fuel system is disabled. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys

I have a 2006 cobalt all fuses are good new battery no codes show up when the ignition is turned over lights blink motor doesent turn over there is a light on the dash that has a car with a lock through it

This sounds like the anti-theft system - Are you using the original factory key? Have you tried locking the car with your remote and then unlocking it with the remote (if you have one)?
