My dad has a 93 lincoln town car that wont start

When we turn the key all the gauges and the radio turns on. It doesn't turn over or sound like it is turning over. It only makes a clicking noise that according to my dad sounds like it's coming from the power distributor. He can't figure out what is going on. He think it may be the starter cylinoid but he doesn't know were it is located. If someone could help inform me where it is or give a suggestion of what the problem is. My dad and I would be appreciative. Thanks

The selonoid is on the Starter which could be the problem.its proberbly sticking. Make sure its out of gear and when you turn the key get someone to tap the starter with the end of a bar or big spanner or if you can get at it a hammer.

SOURCE: 1993 Lincoln Town car -need to reset computer

TO RESET THE COMPUTER YOU NEED TO DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL FROM THE BATTERY FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS. I FOR SOME REASON HAVE TO DO THIS EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY TANK TO SHOW THE EXACT GAS I HAVE.

My 2000 lincoln ls doesn't crank or click when trying to start it, it does nothing? all the lights work, radio, signals and horn, I checked the fuel relay and the starter relay and the ignition fu

Sounds like an Ignition Module or similar device. Does it have an alarm? Turn the key to ON - not start - and put into Drive and then back into Park. It may be the shifter isn't fully engaged. Also, w/your FOOT ON THE BRAKE shift to Neutral and try to start it.

My 1995 lincoln town car turns over but wont start. the person who gave it to me said it was a bad fuel pump. but i sprayed some gas in the air box and it wont even act as if it was going to catch.shoudnt...

If you sprayed enough into the hose going to the throttle body, yes.
It would need to be close to the throttle body to get to the cylinders.
You (someone) can use a gauge to check for fuel pressure at the fitting on the rail. It looks like a tire valve but don't use a tire gauge.

1993 lincoln Town Car wont start

On a car that old, I would suspect a corroded fusible
link, in the wiring harness

I don't have have referrence material to help you
locate those items.

You still have to start buy checking the battery & it's cables
No power to anything at all, your working your way from
the battery to fusible links & on to fuses,to see what you do have

Really need a wiring diagram,if your into that type of understanding
of electrical

93 civic. Turn key all instrument light , radio, ect. work. Turn key competly to crank...wont turn over.Whats up. Thanks

Bad ground. Check the battery terminals. The amount of juice required to turn over engine is not getting through, where as the radio draws much less juice. Also, once all connections are cleaned, positive & ground at the battery and fram and the hot at the starter (best to do prior to snow fall anyway), you should be good to go. If not, turn on the interior dome light and try to start it. If it doesn't start, have your battery tested. Finally, if all is good, you should have the alternator tested as well. Most auto parts stores will provide that for free!

Ignition key wont come out it will start. key still stuck. replace with new. same problem i need help!

When replacing the cylinders the key needs to be turned to just "before" ignition. Then it can be removed/replaced as needed. It sounds like it may be out of cync.
