Question about 2004 Toyota Corolla
Recently replaced my battery in Toyota Matrix '04, 6-speed, manual, because experienced problems with radio and cd player, as well as having no power to start the car. About 60K miles are on the car, so replaced the battery, and got the radio/cd pleayer to work for a couple of days. Then it stopped working again. The other morning after very cold night (morning temp was 19 F), car would not start; had to jump start with cables. The radio and cd player also started working again. CD player today not working but radio is. Could there be a drain on battery somewhere or a short to the battery and or radio etc.?
Their is possibly a short. I would first isolate the problem. Disconnect the CD player and radio. If you can disconnect it then remove the radio fuse.
Start and drive the car for 15 minutes or so. Shut it off, and let it sit for a while. Then go out and start the car. Repeat this until you are sure that your problem is with the radio or wiring.
If The car fails to start and is having a repeat of the problem you have a parasidic draw on the battery from somewhere.
