Where is the gas shutoff valve located in my volkswagen tiguan 2012?

The end of the door handle (the part that doesn't move when you open the door) is actually a plastic cap under which hides the real keyhole. There is even a key-sized hole at the bottom of it which you can feel with your finger. Just pry it off and you're good to go.

VW lock the gas tank with central locking
possibly the actuator stuck or dead
or the door not unlocked
try locking and unlocking all doors several times
and observe if all doors are responding
If all doors are locking and unlock the gas tank should also unlock
If not most likely the actuator or solenoid is bad
at 2009 this should be a warranty issue so let VW pay for it before you try it.

It is on the oil pan which is under the road guard shield
