Alarm on my PT Cruiser

Factory security system only activates alarm (horn) if doors are opened without the key, and also prevents engine from running if proper key is not used in the ignition.
If you want an alarm to go off when the car is impacted you need to get an after market system. Some even will set off the alarm if someone comes to close to your car.

Try unlocking the passager door

This car is 15 years old. Personally, I have never heard of a vehicle that would do that. Try to find another vehicle that is newer. Nobody wants to get another vehicle, but it would be better than putting up with this problem.

its probably the key alarm the lock cylinder may need to be replaced

battery of car is zapped of energy...not sure if alarm system to blame, after driving it for a few minutes..clock and radio display lights turn off, horn can barely be heard...sometimes, motor shuts down completely. have had to put in 2 new batteries in just a matter of 2 months?...any idea what this may be?

now sometimes this happens to let you know that one of the doors are open
check your doors
this is the only thing i can think of altho you have most likely checked it lol
also lock the car with the key
you don't want it to get stolen

Try unhooking the battery for about 10 mins. That should clear any problems and give the alarm time to reset.
