SOURCE: in my 2004 chevy suburban, the cd player wont work

Replace! The repair cost is probably more than replacing it with a decent JVC, Pioneer or Clarion unit - and you can get a DVD player as well to keep the kids occupied ;-)

SOURCE: none of the gauges work

You will need to install a new Instrument Panel Cluster. And GM just changed the programming of these IPC's to where you will need to take it to a GM dealership and let them program it.

SOURCE: 95 chevy suburban- brake lights not working (turn

There are a couple of types of switches but lets assume you have a more common one. It will be located on the left side of the brake pedal shaft it is black with 4 wires in one connector and a seperate 2 wire connector above the 4 wire connector. The switch is easily removed if it is this style by pulling it down it has 2 clips one at the top and one that slides over the pedal shat the back of the switch has a rased hump tha slides into a recess on the upper pedal support bracket.Grab switch pull down and gently wiggle it if necessary.Remove 4 wire connector and 2 wire connector. Now you are holding the old switch and yor troubles have just started the after market replacement switches really **** get a real gm swich. If you look at the old swich at its bottom you will see a little foot sticking out of the base of the swich once the new swich is installed you must use the little foot to adjust the swich. If you do this wrong you will do dammage to your transmission. The two wires at the top of the swich go to the transmission torque converter clutch.when the brake lights are on the upper swich is off. When brake lights are off the swich will be on.Get new swich installed using this info and get a pro to help you adjust it.It should cost you only 35 bucks to get it set.Dealer shouldnt charge more than 30 bucks for switch.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya

SOURCE: I can't find the rear ac expansion valve on my 95 chevy suburban?

Remove two trim panels from just inside back window and just inside rear side door passenger side. They run down from the head liner. Remove seat belt bolt ( TORX HEAD ) also. Remove lower half of trim from just inside rear side door. You should see screws holding weel cover in place. The top under glass just lifts up slightly to remove entire cover. Just a few more screws and you can hinge the top cover of the duct and fan. You will now see the top half of the rear condenser and if you look down beside it you will see the expansion valve. This about as close as you will get to changing the valve though because the freon lines running to the condenser will be stuck so solidly you would have to destroy the lines on either side of the nut to seperate them. You cannot reach the valve without lifting the condenser from its tray and you cannot lift the condenser without removing the lines from it!!! Good luck!!!

No air in front but i have air in rear is there a belt in front ??

Can you hear the front ac/heater fan? They use the same AC compressor so that should be okay. The fan switches fail quite often on those. That controls how much air is pushed by the fan for AC, heat and defrost. The switch is attached to the fan knob on the dash.

My 95 chevy suburban wont shift back into park any suggestions?

Sounds like the linkage is a little loose. Check the linkage going to the side of the transmission. Manual shifting especially if you like shifting fast or hard tends to loosen thing in this area. They can usually be adjusted and/or tightened.

My 95 chevy suburban 5.7 temp. gauge fluctuates from operating temp 195 to 170 back to 195 as I drive

there are two things that can be wrong here.
1-wiring or the sensor itself may be bad.
2-you have a bad head gasket(not blown all the way)but starting to go therefore the fluctuation on the gauge itself.
does it go down when you give it gas? does it uses coolant with out leaking? let me know

Will a 1994 chevy 4l80e 4wd swap into a 1995 GMC

Yes they will swap out nicely, the years where they made the change is in 1997 and the only difference is the transmission end housing has a different bolt pattern but has the same internal parts. You may also want to swap out the servo's with a corvette servo. The cost is around $45.00 and can be done without dropping the transmission pan, this will make your transmission shift firmer and will have less clutch slip[ between gear shifts. Good luck and hope this information helps.

I have a 93 Chevy Suburban 1500 and the Transmission won't shift into any gear. I have an 1983 Chevy Suburban Transmission that is still good. Can I use the 83 Transmission in my 93 Suburban?

Not without a little adapting. The 1993 has a 4l60e which is electronically controlled and has shift solenoids. If the 83 is an overdrive it is a 700r4 which is the same trans but not electronic. If you put it in the speedo wont work and you will need to install a T.V. cable so the transmission will shift. The 93 won't go forward or backwards?
