My car is having problems shifting from park into reverse or drive. I have heard that it may be a simple fuse or part that connents to the break.

You will have to have the solenoid body replaced in the tranny and have the PCM reprogrammed.

manually move the brake switch you installed and have someone check if its comes on at the back...if not ..test for voltage at LG/RD wire- both terminal and wire- if no voltage = Fuse #10/ 20A , #20/ 7.5A, #22/ 20A at the CJB, if good test for voltage at the sockets- both terminal and wire- ......if you get BRAKE lights and still can't move the shift lever... look on the steering column at the SHIFT LOCK ACTUATOR and test that or replace it....hope this helps you..GL

check and see if the brake light work, if not replace the brake light switch, they are a problem in this year, also make sure the wires to the swithch are not broken inside the plastic insulator near the switch, use a 12 volt test light to check the switch which is located at the top of the arm the brake pedal is connected to..
Testimonial: "I checked Brake lights and did not have any. I took panel off & discovered a loose wire to the switch and wired it back in. Car is fine now. Thanx!"

Look at the swith on the brake pedal, it shoud have two green wires on it. Make sure it is not melted or the wire is broken. If it is damaged you can connect the 2 wires together to get it into gear, but this should be temporary as it bypasses the neutral safety switch.
