Replaced both rear rotors and pads on 03 blazer found out that rear passenger caliper was froze up replaced that. now driver side smells like metal burning and gets hot after driving it in the rotor brake area. took it in side driver caliper needs replaced is there a abs reset or something that would cause both calipers to mess up at the same time?

I replaced the rotors and pads on my right hand drive Blazer and had the same problem ,dont worry in a couple of days normal running the pressure goes away and you dont get the heat problem.
Its just the new pads bedding in.

Have someone push & release pedal while at wheel with problem. See if it takes a while or slow to release. If yes, have wrench ready on bleeder screw, and try again, if it sticks/holds, crack bleeder screw, if it releases, I'd replace hose.
SOURCE: either the brakes or the caliper keeps sticking to the rotors.
If its not the caliper causing the problem try replacing the rubber hose coming off of the caliper. Sometimes the inside of the hose will get messed up and let fluid go to the caliper but not return to the master cyl.

bleed the brake again. if the pedal goes to the floor with little resistance, then the master cylinder is your problem.
the shim is to depress the noise when you applied the brake. you can skip that, if the brake works without it.

In order to retract the pistons on the rear calipers you need to use a special tool that will rotate the piston in a clockwise direction. It may be possible to try to use a strong needle nose plier.Apply force against the U shaped slots on the piston and rotate clockwise until the piston bottoms out. Before you reinstall the caliper make sure that the recessed slots are at 12 and 6 "o"clock..the slots align with one or two bumps on the inside pad.
If you are having problems with your calipers rebuilt one are a good option. If only the caliper slide pins are sticking they can be cleaned and lubricated.Pin lubricant sometimes comes with a set of brake pads.Other than that lube may be purchased separately at an automotive supply store.
