My 2000 exploder never skipped or sputerd, it ran fine but when I turned it off now it just turns and turns. No go. Its almost like it blew a fuse or the fuel pump guit. Strange

Are you getting any spark at the coil???? If so, then it might be your pick-up coil in the distributor. If no spark at coil. try new coil.

yes the fuel pump is running, you know because when you put the key up and ready to start you can hear it. I know just what you are talking about I have had that same problem. It is about a $4,00 part should not be more then $10.00. So open the hood and then go to the fuse box you will want to change the fuel pump relay that is in the middle of power point and pcm power relay. Also there is another that has to do with the fuel and that is called fuel system this part is located on the right side of the fuse box and the other is on the left.
I hope that you have every thing work out for you please let me know what happens I hope it works out well.

2000 ford 4.0 explorer cranks but fails to start. It acts like it starts after sitting all night but then only cranks, what is wrong?

Check for spark to the sparkplug. Try a shot of starting fluid as having gas pumping and having the fuel injectors opening are 2 different things. If you have spark, then the fuel injectors may not be working. Quick diagnosis is to use starting fluid and see if engine tries to run. This indicates problem is not lack of spark but lack of fuel getting into cylinders.

My 2000 ford explorer suddenly wont start... the battery was relpaced less than 6 months ago. the key turns but nothing happens, no dash lights or any starting sounds, and at the same time my hood does not...

does the battery have a full charge to it? If so clean battery terminals and chck battery cable at starter make sure its getting good contact. Make sure battery ground is making good contact at engine. Can you jump the car off? If so take off positive battery terminal while the car is running if the car dies altenaters bad replace it.

1998 Ford Explorer Wont Start. :(

Only make right turns! Only kidding! Have you hit a bump lately? Ford uses an Inertia switch to cut off fuel flow when triggered.Have that checked and reset.

My 2000 ford explorer is not starting it will turn over

there is no ignition module, it is part of the processor. Will it start if you step on the gas slightly?
