There is a sensor that makes a connection when the seat belt is buckled, that turn out the light, it is defective, replace the seat belt assembly or remove the bulb.

91 honda ex, passenger front seat belt is not working and the light in the dash board keeps lit, I have check the fuses for it, and all the connection to the belt and it seems all intact...any advise?

Your 1991 model Accord has automatic front retracting shoulder belts and, more than likely, the power retractor motor has gone bad on the passenger side front. If the shoulder seat belt is not in the retracted position, up close against the seat, when the car is running, the seat belt light will stay lit on your dash. Have the seat belt motor inspected and replaced if necessary.

89 cougar ls seat belt light staying on, even when belts are work

The switch in the seat belt unit has gone bad. it will need to be replaced. no way to disconnect it that i know of.

If its disconnected, the car sees that as the switch being activated as if the belts are not being used.

My seat belt light stays on in my BMW Z4. Is there a solution to this.

The contact in your seat belt buckle needs cleaned, (when you click the belt into the buckle the connection is not being completed keeping the dash light on.) Try inserting a thin flat blade screw driver with a lint free cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol into the buckle and slide to and fro gently. do this a few times moving cloth o a clean spot each time till no dirt shows.

Srs airbag light is on on my 99 pontiac grand prix

If the seat belt light comes on intermittently with the belt buckled, it may have a bad switch in the buckle or a loose connection @ the switch. This may also set a diagnostic trouble code in the srs control module & keep the srs airbag light on.

Seat belt indicator

look under the drivers seat there is a plug that may be unplugged or broken this is what tells the light to stay on plug it in or try unplugging it and see what happens, on some of the 200 and up models the seat belt light may have some affect on airbags working properly, I have not found this to be the case on 97 model.
