It is a power seat. the back rest of the seat will move up and down but the seat itself is in the most forward position and will not move back. Makes for tight space.

1.Make sure the stiff wire that crosses under the seat to the passenger side latch hasn't come off. 2.Soak the slides with some good penatrating oil (NOT WD40!).

i had the same prob when i got my durango.i set the seat where i was cumfortable and still where my wife could be cumfortable drilled two small holes on the side of the rail and shot two rivets through it.all the other controls work the same but it doesnt go back and forth anymore.works for me ,alot cheeper than a power seat.

have you relaced the power seat switch? this is the most common cause of this problem, the next cause is a failed seat transmission.

One of two options: You have a bad seat position switch, or you have a bad seat motor. Use a digital multi-meter and backprobe to check for voltage at the motor when the seat switch is moved to the "reverse" position. If you have voltage, you have a bad motor. If you do NOT have voltage, replace the switch.
