When the defroster on my 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (4cylinder) is turned on, the engine runs very rough, or the engine dies. You can also smell something burning if the defroster is left on for very long. Not sure if the smell is a rubber smell (like a fan belt) or whether it smells like an electrical smell??? Thanks for any help. Jim
Get your heater core checked out. the heater core is right by the blower motor and if its busted it will blow the smell into your car.
