I would like to know how to install a new push rod on a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. The car wont start and just clicks when key is turned, i was told it was due to a bent rod in the engine, i believe he said push rod. Is that correct & about how much does a new "Push Rod" cost & is it hard to install myself? Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks!!!

its by your intake manifold on the bottom of the engine block. there is a heat shield covering it which will need to be removed to get to it

SOURCE: crankshaft position sensor location
Hello. One way to check if it is working is when you try to start the car does the needle move on you tac? If not then your crank sensor is more then likely the problem. It is located on the backside of the engine under the intake manifold. If is in about the center of the block. There will be a 10mm bolt holding the sensor in. If you decide to change it yourself (not to terrible of a job) unplug the sensor, remove the bolt and spin it back and forth slightly while pulling it out. It may be stoburn and you might have to work at it for a little bit (not a done of room) but it will come. When it's out the sensor will be shaped kind of like an L. I have changed a few of these over time and they can be a little stoburn. To install just reverse the process.
SOURCE: AC Problem in my mitsubishi eclipse spyder 2002 GT
Sounds like the cooling fan motor,or motors, are not working.Check the relays, and fuses for the cooling fans.If the ac is on,look to see if the cooling fan,or fans come on.If they do ,then most likely have an enternal ac system problem. The expansion valve is the most likely problem,or possible, the dryer.Have the ac system checked to see if it is low,or if the low side is going into a vacuum,if it is going into a vacuum, replace the expansion valve.First check to see if the cooling fans are working with ac on.If I can help, let me know.>>>[email protected]

He meant bent valve. you are looking at a head job. sorry but these are interference engines.
In fact I believe it has an overhead cam right? If so then there are no pushrods. Generally all a bent pushrod does is leave the valve closed.
