Boot is the trunk, right? Find the switch in the trunk, maybe the wire fell off, or the switch has failed. Temporarily you might be able to either disconnect or ground the wire to turn the light off until you can get it fixed.

Boot lid open message. How i swich of message

Close the boot lid.....
No, seriously now. It will probably be the sensor that is at fault. Don't know where yours will be. It could be in the lid lock, around the lid or lip of the boot where the lid fits to the boot opening normally under a rubber cover. You may be able to fool the car into thinking it is shut by bypassing the switch. Disconnect the wires to the switch (when you find it) and either leave the 2 wires disconnected (for a switch that is activated by the circuit being open) or connect the 2 wires together (for a switch that is activated by being closed). Try it without connecting together first and if this doesn't work then try connecting them together. Once you find the correct way then wrap in insulation tape to prevent any shorting out.
Remember though that this will mean that if you drive with the boot open you will get no indication on the dashboard. Also your boot light may not now work.

BOOT OPEN but not open warning light on dashboard say this with red warning light

The sensor is located and probably built into the boot latch. The sensor is good because the light goes off if you close it slowly. the latch is just worn out with that particular part. Replace the latch. It is not hard to replace if you have a few hand tools.

I explained the boot on my jaguar s type 2001 the light on the dashboard says the boot is open but it is not.i am unable to set the alarm because the dashboard is saying boot is open, when I open the boot...

you may have a broken wire around the boot hinge. or a faulty boot latch switch, also check the switch on the boot lid.itself.also the plastic boot closing panel has not come adrift, has the boot switch will not operate if the panel is missing/adrift.

The boot lid will close completely, you cannot open it again from key or button on dashboard, to open it you have to use pull cord on inside of boot. Its the final stage of closing when motor pulls boot in...

Looks like the motor / actuator is not working.
It could be weather related as its very cold. it may be water contaminated and frozen the mechanism.

The "Boot Open" message is displayed o my dash. The trunk lid is closed. The only way to open the trunk is with the key. The Key fob does not work nor do the switches inside the car or in the trunk lid...

Somethings for you to check......

If you open the boot and close the
boot latch (in the middle of the boot lid)with a screwdriver or
something does the boot light go off when you press the little
plunger for the boot light?
If it does not it may be the boot latch. It's also worth checking the
wiring loom on the right of the boot by keeping the boot plunger
pushed in with the boot latch closed as above and squeezing the
wiring loom in various places to see if the light goes off as it
should.it may be a damaged wire in the loom......

Also the plastic trim piece on the rear lower end of the
trunk (boot) is loose, the light comes on. It is held by 4 plastic
pins. When in place properly, no light, when loose, trunk open
light is on, even when trunk is secured.

Good luck

Sounds like a faulty microswitch which is located on the boot lock mechanism, even though the boot might be locked, its still thinking its open and would need replacing. Unfortunately, I believe that this comes as one piece with the boot lock.

Another thing to be aware of one these is the wiring loom coming out from the body of the car and into the bootlid (on the right hand side boot lid when open) If you pull the rubber "tubing" off you'll gain access to the wiring. A common fault is for the wires to stress/break causing false contact. Hopefully one of these two problems should be your cause. Let me know how it goes!

Sounds like the sensor switch is bad - this is the switch that is pressed down when the trunk/boot is closed. If it's bad, it may not allow the light to turn on when you open the lid, and it also probably isn't telling the dash light that it's closed when it is, which would explain why your indicator light is on. Check to see if it has damaged wires on it, and if not, I'd replace it.
