Please go to the crossfire injection forum to get some straight answers to the 82 corvette CFI system and how to troubleshoot it properly. There's a lot of misinformation given here, so much so, I don't know where to begin.

One thing is, the 82 corvette CFI does NOT have a MassAir Flow sensor system, it uses MAP and O2 mostly. The CTS sends a signal to the ECM telling it what the temp of the motor is and in turn the ECM controls the amount of fuel being dumped. On the older (orignal) CTS sensors, they have one wire and takes its ground from the threads. If any coorosion takes place, usually the CTS will report a cold engine and request lots of fuel.

To repair this issue, install one of the newer style CTS sensors that have two wires, one for signal and the other is ground.

Fuel pressure and vacuum leaks on any CFI motor play key roles. Set the FP to 14-15psi measured inbetween the TBs. The regulator is located on the rear TB and must be slightly moded to make it adjustable and can be done in a few minutes.

On the top right side of the intake manifold lid, there are several wires that are grouped together and are grounded to the double ended lid bolt. If there is a bad connection there, both injectors will immediately start dumping fuel. Make sure the wire's ring terminals are clean and the nut tightened. Rather than just tighten the nut that holds them down, tighten the double ended bolt first, then tighten down the nut. This may not be your problem, but it is one of the problems your car could have.

A timming sensor controls the pulse to the injector , so if the pulse is to high you will need a test on the timming sensor , and if the sensor is good then the sending unit (PCM) needs to be replaced
have you tested the injector?

The ECU receives signals from many sensors, for example Mass Airflow sensor, several heating and temperature sensors, throttle position sensor, and more sensors and devices that control distribution, fuel, cooling etc.

The ECU is the main module that controls all this information, and depending on the model is located behind the glovebox, near to the firewall , or near to the engine.
If the ECU has already be replaced, then it should be scanned using an ODBI code reader like the some of ones here Obd 1 Scanner

There used to be a known problem with earlier fuel injection where as passing near high power cables or other sources of electrical interference would cause the all the injectors to hold open flooding the engine and stall. so you need to check for screening wires to certain sensors .other than that wrap the engine control unit in tin foil to shield it from interference.also check crank shaft sensor.hope this helps.

Miller Big 40 diesel will not start unless I use starting fluid. Then once it starts I can start all day long until I let it sit over night. Then I have to use starting fluid again. How do I fix this so I...

I am not familiar with the engine.

Indirect injection diesels need a cold start device in all but the most mild of weather conditions - mostly this is accomplished with the use of in-cylinder heater plugs but these might or might not be supplemented with an excess fuel device or an intake manifold warmer.

Direct injection diesels lose much less heat during compression and so an engine in good condition will usually start without aids in temperatures above freezing though most engines will incorporate an excess fuel device, manifold heater or in-cylinder heater plugs to cope with low temperatures.

The first thing a diesel needs for good starting is a good cranking speed and excellent compressions followed by good injector spray patterns and that is usually enough to ensure reliable starting of a direct injection type.
An indirect injection type is even more needful of good compressions and a good cranking speed and also requires good injector spray patterns but will also need any cold starting aid to be working properly.

I suggest you begin by learning about your engine.

1987 cheverolet camaro will not start. Replaced a but load of parts...good spark , computer is new and working , fuel pump is new and working , distributor new and working , throttle position sensor new...

I think I would be looking at the crank angle sensor and/or the cam sensors on this vehicle. It seems to me the engine isn't getting the signal to fire up.What happens when you squirt some fuel into the combustion chamber ? If it fires up I would be looking at cleaning the injectors. If it doesn't fire up What's the pressure on the fuel rail. does it have a buy pass pressure valve on the rail. Some suggestions good luck

Perkins DTA530E/1306CE87 250KVA generator set. Fault is when the unit is started it works for few minutes and the engine cuts off.

Maybe it causes by the following problems:

Fuel System Failure

1. Air in the fuel system
This is a common problem that a diesel generator fails to start normally.
Solution: Check whether the fuel oil pipe connector is loose or not, and ensure that the air is cleared from the fuel system. Loosen the bleed screw bolt on the diesel filter, and then use the manual oil pump to pump the fuel until the air bubble is gone.
2. Fuel Line Obstruction
Solution: Check whether the pipeline is smooth or not.
3. Fuel Filter Clogging
Solution: Clean the filter or replace the filter element
4. The Handle Position of Fuel Injection Pump Is Not Correct
Solution: The handle position should be pushed to no-load when starting the diesel generator set. Rotation speed is about 700-900r/min.
5. Fuel Injector Problem - Little fuel injection or fuel injection is not atomized
Solution: Remove the fuel injector, connect it to the high pressure oil pump, pry the fuel injection pump plunger spring and observe the spray condition. If necessary, wash the injection pump.
6. Oil Supply Problem - Oil transfer pump doesn't supply oil or the oil supply is brokenly.
Solution: Check whether the oil inlet pipe is leaked or not and the filter screen on the oil inlet pipe connector is blocked or not.

Yea , those crossfire injection vettes can be a bear sometimes . I had dealings with them 84-85 - 86 working as a tech at a chevy dealer . Don't remember much about them , haven't heard anything about them for long time .

How's the fuel pressure ? Have you put a fuel gauge on it ? I would imagine you don't have a Tech 1 scan tool ? What's the map sensor voltage at idle ?
