SOURCE: Changing transmission fluid for 06 Kia Sedona

Transmissions these days need very little maintenance, our fluids are advanced formulas that hold up for an average of 100,000 miles, most vehicle manufactures recommend no maintenance for automatic transaxles these days.As for a transmission flush I don't recommend this because it's an expense that is not needed and possibly could loosen some contaminants setting them loose to possibly clog some of the very small passages in the transaxle requiring full transaxle service, which could include removal, dissassembly, etc of your trans. Now draining and replacing fluid is OK if that makes you feel a peace of mind but normally not needed,if you decide to do that,as far as quantity just note approx. how much fluid is drained and purchase similar amount in quarts and then refill (DO NOT OVERFILL)
start engine, let it warm up to operating temp, then check the transmission dipstick for the correct level, remember the vehicle needs to be on a level surface, hot idiling in park when you check the fluid level. Good luck !

SOURCE: how do you replace a clutch on a kia sedona

remove the intercooler and air filter box. undo starter motor then disconnect all connections into gbox. (2 i think) remove both front wheels then dsconnect both drive shafts at the gbox. (just pull them out) undo the mount above the gbox then supprt with a jack. remove mount then undo the ring of bolts that join it to the engine. pull it over to one side as far as you can get it. this should give u enough room to remove the clutch. ring of bolts holding pressure plate to the flywheel. friction plate between the two. then remove the bearing from the shaft in the gbox. replace all 3 parts ensuring the new bearing is greased, and in the fork correctly. assemble in reverse order. before starting check you get all gears then start with the clutch depressed and slowly release incase the release bearing is stuck..
CAUTION. GBOX IS VERY HEAVY

My 03 kia sedona fwd 3.5 automatic with OD just lost reverse it has 3hundred plus miles this is the first prn ive had with the tranny could it just be a sylinoid still has all forward gears

get the codes first ,as it can be your linkages under the car that is loose from your gear-stick to your gearbox.or it can just be a need for a fluid change .

My 2002 kia sedona won't idle until warms up, dies when put into gear ...any ideas??

Is the check engine light on? you could have a bad ignition fail sensor, TPS sensor, or bad o2 sensor. it could also be a bad mass air flow sensor or a vacuum leak. without a code to help pin point the problem I'd start by checking those things first. Maybe try unplugging the mass airflow sensor and start it up and see if anything changes.

Kia sedona automatic transmission gearbox

To fill the transmission fluid, you need a funnel that fits into the dipstick tube, add fluid there. If the fluid is black and smells burnt, that's bad. I would have the fluid changed. These transmissions don't have a filter, probally a bad idea.

02 kia sedona diesel. it has thick black oil in the cooling system what is causing it?

It sounds like your oil cooler is gone , its located on the engine block above the oil filter housing, the oil will contaminate the cooling system hoses if left alone and cause them to rot

What oil do we use for the gearbox of the Kia Sedona. Second gear making grinding sound

If it's only grinding in one gear, that tells me it's not a clutch issue. However, grinding in any gear is caused by a worn synchro inside the unit. changing the gear lube won't fix that. I'd suggest you do not wait on a repair or metal debris from failure will migrate through the lube and will cause problems with the entire unit.
Wish I could give you better news but that's the way it is.
Good luck
