It is not the fuel pump. you have a bad fuel pressure regulator . it is located on the fuel rail. here is my link to my garagehttps://www.facebook.com/TedsRepairs

You're either out of gas or you need a new fuel pump.
Roll the keys back to the 'off' position.
Have someone sit by the back tire and listen as you roll the key forward until the lights on the dash come on DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE OVER.

If they hear the pump then you're out of gas, if they don't hear the pump your pump is likely burned up.

My 2000 dodge neon 2.0, just cut off whwhile I was driving. It needed a water pump like a month ago. Now it just turns over like it jumped time.

Looks like the timing belt broke. It also drives the water pump which I'm sure is what took out the timing belt. That has a interference engine so you may need a valve job if it slammed the valves. 50 50 chance its all done unfortunately....

Dodge neon shuts off while driving

the neon has a problem with the wiring near the engine mounts in that it breaks or otherwise looses connectivity and that set of wires are for the cam position sensor
with that sensor not reporting to the ECM , the engine is turned off when there is not reaction from the engine , connection is restored and so ti start up again
check in the wiring harness in that area for the problem

I have a 1998 dodge neon 2.0 sohc itll turn over but want start we got it to start with starter fluid but had to hold the throttle down to keep it runnin

Check if your pump is working. Check the fuel pressure. If you have fuel pressure at the engine''s fuel rail, check if your injectors are pulsing. Sounds like gas is not getting to the engine or not getting into the cylinders.

Hard to steer 2000 Dodge Neon but belt is okay

Check to see if you enough Steering Fluid. If the fluid was recently flushed, make sure they put right kind of fluid. I once had my fluid replace and they topped it with the wrong spec fluid. Had to reflush and put the correct fluid. Belt will usually make noise, not cause the steering to stiffen up. Hope this helps, let us know if a better answer comes along.

I just changed a fuel pump in an 05 dodge neon and the car still acts like it loseing fuel pressur what would be wrong?

Does the engine run if you spray starting fluid (from any auto parts store or hardware store) into the air intake of the engine? If so the injectors are not delivering fuel (we call this injector "pulse") or you have other engine problems like a jumped camshaft timing belt? Does the camshaft drive pulley turn when the engine is cranked over? If not the camshaft drive belt has gone away. Also check all the fuses with a 12 volt test (available from any parts store for about $5) light 15 amps and up to 30 amps, Are any of them not lighting the 12 test light on both sides of the fuse with the ignition key on? Do you have power to one side of which injector with the key on? Be meticulous and check everything until you find the cause of the no start. Also the camshaft drive belt lasts about 90,000 miles to about 100,000 miles, then it can go at any time with the resulting no start.

2000 dodge neon cranks but wont start. If i unplug the cam sensor it will run for a second ( with it plugged in there is no spark coming from the coil)

You just proved that the cam belt has skipped time. That is the procendure to check. Remove the covers and line up the marks and you'll see your problem. while you have the belt off put on a new one as it should'nt skip unless it's worn out.

I have a 200 dodge neon 2.0 it has a very ruff idle when i first start it up . Once warm seems to run good

If you don't know how long it has been since it has had spark plugs and a tune up, it might need a complete tune up. It might also have a vacuum hose off , cracked , or loose on a connection, which a person can visually look at and see, most of the time.
