Powering steering maybe - or not........

If you knew how vehicles work then maybe
does belt drive alternator ? (charges battery ! )
does belt drive cooling fan in back of radiator ?
does the belt drive the power steering hydraulic pump ?

check the fluid level in powering steering pump or if electrical assist look under dash attached to steering column and test motor and connections --have vehicle scanned for the trouble codes the abs and the power steering should pop up with code most auto stores off this service for free --aslo check under vehicle by abs lines and check wiring for damage -----test hubs up front for wear or possible failure

The first thing to check is that there is the proper amount of power steering fluid in your power steering pump fluid reservoir. The tie rod ends may also be at fault.

YOU HAVE AIR IN THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM.YOU NEED TO BLEED POWER STEERING PUMP FIRST BEFORE DRIVING VECHICLE.CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID LEVEL ADD MORE POWER STEERING UNTIL REACH FULL COLD MARK..RAISE VECHICLE FRONT WHEELS OFF THE GROUND.START ENGINE LET IT IDLE WHILE TURNING STEERING WHEEL LEFT TO RIGHT NON STOP DONT LOCK OR STOP STEERING WHEEL KEEP TURNING IT SEVERAL TIMES CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID IF LOW ADD UNTIL YOU GET COLD MARK ON DIP STICK DONT OVER FILL POWER STEERING PUMP BLOW A SEAL.IF POWER STEERING FLUID LOOK TAN COLOR SYSTEM FULL OF AIR.TURN OFF IGNITION LET CAR SET FOR A WHILE CHECK FLUID LEVEL.IF STEERING WHEEL FEEL STIFF HARD TURNING DONT DRIVE CAR UNTIL YOU HAVE NORMAL STEERING.IF STILL HAVE AIR IN SYSTEM BLEED SYSTEM UNTIL AIR IS OUT.

it most likly is from sitting then ...alot of the time this will go away after abit of driving

Maybe your power steering pump went. if the belt is not wet, but still tries to slip on the power steering pump pulley, the pump is probably starting to seize up. Did you check your power steering fluid? Try to remove the belt from the power steering pump pulley, then turn the pulley by hand to see if the pump is seized

I would almost bet that is does have P/S. To find out, start the engine and while sitting still if you can easily turn the steering wheel from side to side it has power steering. Also you could raise the hood and look and see if you see a power steering pump.

Well, it is easy to test the struts. 1st look for oil deposits around the strut tower. 2nd push on the vehicle's bumper or hood, down with your weight. See how many times the vehicle bounces. It shouldn't bounce more than 1 1/2 times anything more than that might need replaced. As for the gear box...I think you got that right...needs replaced.

I have the same problem with 05 XC90 2.5T.. It seems like there is a problem with the power steering pump. And the only way to fix it is to change the pump. Now i'm trying to use the lucas stop leaking thing as well and will see what happens.

On the Ford Tarus, Yes you have a lot of things to take off and thats everything above the power steering hoses.Just take your time and remember where everything goes. Then put it back in reverse procedure.
Believe me there is no threading them hoses in there.
