Yes it doesif you mix it up it wont start the wire are connected one side to the spark plug other side to the ignition coil on those coil you have numbers on them number 1 passager side in the back of the v6 cylinder in the front passager side is number 2 in the back number 3 and so one good luck pierre

I can't upload the diagram but the firing order appears to be 1,4,6,3,2,5

Install the spark plug wire(s) (1, 3 and 5) to the engine right side spark plug(s).

Install the spark plug wire(s) to the retaining clips.

Install the spark plug wire(s) (2, 4 and 6) to the engine left side spark plug(s).

Install the spark plug wire(s) to the retaining clips.

Which way do the spark plug wires go on the spark plug cylinders?
yes it does matter, big time.

You start by putting the spark plug wire for #1 on the distributor, on the #1 spark plug. #1 is usually the first plug in the rear on the passenger side. Then figure out which way the rotor rotates, usually clockwise. Then put the plug wires on in the order of the firing order. It is not in numerical order.

If you did not take them off already, just do one at a time.

I dont understand why you would need that unless you took off all the wires and took out all the plugs and forgot how the wires were.I have the same truck and I always do the plugs and wires one at time to make sure I make a mistake.If this is your ploblem let me know because i might be able to walk you though it.
