The remote turns the security system on & off
& opens the doors,has nothing to do with starting
the car.

The programmed key starts the car

need software update done .as your ECU does not accept it.

there are aftermarket remote fob sold, with full docs./
in fact can go online and read there pages and docs,
all for free to read...... learn mode and all that.

check your manual for remote programming. may have to reprogram remote control or leave car running so it can all reprogram to factory settings

Try turning your key in the driver's door cylinder while the alarm is going off. That should shut the factory alarm down.

lock all the doors ,and giggle keys side to side and check the lights until they go off that the way you undo alarm system

You need to reset the alarm by inserting the reset key(small plastic devise with visible contactors that should be with the keys) for a few seconds in the it's hole in the right-hand rear speaker. Open the boot look at the underside of the rear right-hand speaker to locate the hole.

NOTE: No synchronization required after battery replacement.
How - 1996

NOTE: Remote control contains a transponder and MUST be attached to the same ring as the ignition key.
Unlock the vehicle using the key. Deactivate alarm.
NOTE: Alarm system can be disarmed using 4 digit code from vehicle security card as detailed in the owner's handbook.
Switch ignition ON. Switch ignition OFF. Remove ignition key. If battery replacement has taken longer than 5 minutes: Deactivate the system using 4 digit code from vehicle security card as detailed in the owner's handbook. Hold the remote control close to the vehicle. Press either button of the remote control 4 times or more in quick succession.

Try locking and unlocking the car with the key and not the remote. Sometimes this will disengage the alarm.
