1994 Caprice LS. Little to NO heat.

Just bought it...winter is approaching fast! Smells like coolant. windows fog up, and leaking on exterior of car right at the passanger side front wheel. 4.3L BTW. Thinking heater hoses, but also know that faulty heater core could be an issue but its not leaking inside? Would a coolant leak cause it to smell inside? Also thinking that maybe if the heater core isn't getting enough coolant it won't heat, but whats with the fog and stuff? Stumped!

It will be the heater core. If you can smell it inside the car and it's steaming up the windows the core will need to be replaced. Remove the heater core housing and check to make sure its leaking from the core itself. You might get lucky and have a leak from the hoses running to core instead. Hope that helped.

On a 2000 jeep grand cherokee what does it mean if the heater smokes, smells like antifreeze and window fogs up when heater is on?

It is not smoke though it appears so. It is thick heavy steam from a coolant leak in your heater core in the cabin area. It will smell very sweet if it is a typical glycol based antifreeze, and the windows will fog up as the hot coolant enters the cabin area of the vehicle. Primarily on the inside of the windshield. The cure is that your going to have to replace the heater core as it is leaking. Do this soon because if it ruptures completely you will have a major mess on the floorboard of your vehicle. Coolant is also poisonous to humans and animals if ingested. The heater core will be a little pricey as will the labor to replace it. Good luck. I guarantee you it is the heater core leaking.

Vapor comeing out of vents with heater turned off. smells like coolant not leaking on floor and not fogging windows up like when my heater core went bad 3 years ago and had it replaced.

Sounds like you have a small leak in the heater core. this is a small radiator that fits in the heating system to provide the heat in winter. It is an extension of the cooling system and therefore has antifreeze in the core. You may just have a hose leaking a tiny bit around the connetion.

While driving my 95 explorer i noticed the heater wasnt getting hot its luke warm and when i turn on the defroster i start to smell anti freeze and all of the windows fog up

no heat is probably low coolant or bad thermostat, although you have fog and smell ! the heating and cooling systems are closed systems the only way the windows fog is the coolant is hot and steams inside the car due to some leak inside the heater core box. as well as the smell being present. Now it is possible that a little leak has occured where the coolant supply or return line connects to the heater core and is running into the car which is running onto the core and creating steam and smell. hopefully it is a easy clamp tighten fix for you.

Why my window is fogging whe i turn the heater ?? i recently bought my toyota carina 3 model 1994 but the window is fogging , what should i do?

Make sure the vent system is set to draw air from outside. If it is set to recirculate the same air that's inside the vehicle without drawing fresh air from outside, the resulting humidity that builds up inside the vehicle can fog the windows even when you run the defrost. You can also try opening the windows a bit to get some more air moving inside.
If it still fogs when the vents are set properly, you may have a leaky heater core. The heater core is a small radiator that is located under the dash that the heater system blows air through to heat the inside of your car and provide heat to defrost the windshield. The fog may be coming from the heater core leaking hot coolant steam that's being circulated through the defrost system. If this is so, you will need to replace the heater core.

Window fogs and smells like cooler fluid, have no leak and evry couple of months i need to add cooler fuid.

If you need to add coolant, you do have a leak. Since your window fogs and have a smell, you heater core is leaking The reason the window fogs is that your coolant is moisture getting blown on to your windshield.
