Here recently my car has been hard to start...after getting it started it acts as if its not getting enought power...i have recently changed the plugs, wires and core and a long with a new value cover and yet it still acts as if it not getting fuel...its not idleing up or down. I am wondering if it could be the fuel pump or filter. If anyone as any imput please let me kno because I go buy this two parts. THanks...single mother
Idling is the the idler valve on the intake usually just needs a clean. as for no power this can be the throttle sensor, if the throttle has blank spots it would cause this problem. if the fuel filter has not been changed in a long time it could need changing, especially if not in the last 5 years., air filter could also need changing if this has not been done for a long time. remove the air filter and check its color if its completely black change it, this can also contaminate the maf sensor, this you can clean with MAF sensor cleaner its best to clean this as it will cause engine problems such as you have. so as to conform do these first.
1. check air filter.
2. clean the idle valve.
3. clean the MAF sensor.
do these 3 first before anything ells.

it's probably one of the coils , I'd buy one and try replacing one of the two there ! , let me know how ya make out !

have you had a recent timming belt if so get it re timmed
SOURCE: No power to fuel pump and ignition coil
probably the most common problem, just had the same issue on my 1995 RS. Check the Crank sensor first, mine was located on the back of the block just above the oil filter housing. The other possibility is the Cam sensor, located on the right side end of the valve cover. If either one of these are bad, it will not send a signal to the computer to run the coils or the fuel pump.
SOURCE: won't start, fuel pump not getting any power
Check the fuel system to make sure it's getting gas. Take the back seat out and turn the ignition on without cranking the car. You should hear the fuel pump make noise for a few seconds as it pressurizes the system and then turns off. If you don't hear anything, it would probably be the pump or one of the two relays on the firewall next to the master cylinder.
