Having the same problem with 92 sundance. Only mine is really rough and wont seem to stop. no power at all it will idle somewhat better in park or neutral but as soon as put in a forward gear or reverse it chugs and blows smoke. it has quite a few miles so!
I put new plugs in to no avail,also did a check on codes only thing that came up was fan relay switch open. a bunch of sensors it could be i guess one other thing it happend on mine day after getting gas in it?

first check bulbs and fuses if no success the reverse light switch is located on gearbox sometimes wires come off and other times faulty and need replacing a test lamp on the switch will help to tell you whether or not power is coming out when in reverse to make the lights work

the wire is feed by the asd relay as commanded by the computer to supply power upon seeing cranking rpm. the wire also feeds the injectors and other sensors. the wire you need is in a harnes that runs from the drivers side to the passenger side just behind the back of the valve cover.

Unsure what engine or Vin Number is for your Car. All 0f the diagrams looked the same for the 2.2 - 2.5 and others, with and with out turbo.
