Ignition switch I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre when I turn the switch everything come on but car will not start. It doesn't do anything. What might be the problem?

My 2000 Lasaber was cold after sitting a day. I went to crank it and engine turned over fine. It then backfired under the hood almost like thur a carburator does. Next turn key to crank and nothing. All lights come on, battery has plenty power but starter does nothing. What could be the problem? Even tried to jump, with all the power no starter even attempting to click.
