1995 chevy 1500, 4.3 vortec engine was replaced to 5.7 and computer. Everything else stayed the same. when pushed to passing gear at low speed, engine accelerates and blows/pops through TBI carb.

Check and make sure the distributer is advancing the timing. If you have a timing light mark the balancer with chalk or a paint stick. When you rev the engine the mark should move. If not you have a bad distributer.

A/c stops when I accelerate..

This is normal. It's called a wide open throttle a/c cutout. It gets rid of the power drain from the a/c to allow better acceleration.

1998 Chevrolet 5.7 Vortec Problems.

Most likely the intake gaskets are bad. they will sag in the middle over time and allow a vacuum leak between the head and intake. recommend replacing the gaskets with the steel instead of plastic ones.

'98 S10 4 cyl. 5 speed: Sudden high idle, now surges.

Go to your local shucks or auto zone and they can check any codes behind your check engine light and it's free. It sounds like one of two things a O2 sensor or your mass airflow sensor but they will tell you for sure
