I hope I can give enough info for someone to be able to help. My friends 318 in his 1996 1500 locked up. So he bought a used 1996 1500 with a 360 in it and a bad transmission. Both are 2wd one bad engine one bad transmission. So here we start. We swapped over the 360 engine into the truck that had the 318.Everything went well and we even got the 360 to turn over and start but it will not stay running at idle we have to keep feathering the throttle to keep the engine running. The only change that was made was to the intake due to a sensor on the front of the 360 had 2 sensors and would not match up with the wiring harness on the truck that had a 318. The 318 intake only had one sensor position this sensor was located one the front of the intake. The intakes lined up perfectly as far as size and bolt pattern. We used the fuel rails and injectors off of the 360 and put them into the 318 intake. Question #1 We did not change out the computer or wiring harness does the 360 have to use the original computer and harness from the old truck to run properly? Question #2 Will the 360 block work with the 318 intake, and 360 fuel rails? Question #3 We tried to adjust the timing by turning the distributor cap but could not get rid of any of the problems. Do we have to disconnect the computer from the sytem in order to tune it with a timing light and the distributor cap. I hope I have explained the situation and the circumstances well enough to start a topic any and all help from someone who knows more than we do will be greatly appreciated. Oh and 1 more thing we replaced the balanced fly wheel off of the 360 and put in the 318 so it would not be out of balance or a a harmonics or vibration problems so we used the 318 sensor on this part as well. Summary Block 360 intake 318 fuel rail and injectors 360 computer 318 wiring harness 318 flywheel 318 Read more: http://forums.moparmusclemagazine.com/70/8813762/general-mopar-technical-discussion/swapping-a-318-for-360-in-a-1996-1500-2wd-not-runn/index.html#ixzz1XqODKG7y

First of all you need to use everything that was on the 360 on the 360. change every thing back then take its wiring harness and computer and use them and everything should work. 1996 and newer all get certain commands from the pcm (computer) and without those commands the vehicle will not work right. hope i was of help good luck

Why don't give answer

If no one is answering your question. You are probably not giving enough information. Since you are asking in the Cars&Trucks section I will assume that your unanswered question was about a vehicle. To get an answer you will need to provide: The make and model of your car. The model year. Info about the engine, number of cylinders, liters or cubic inches displacement. If the question is about the transmission or you are not sure. Give that as well, Automatic or standard. Number of gears, 4X4, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive.
Give as much info as possible about what the car is doing that it should not do, or not doing that it should.
You are asking people to remotely diagnose a complicated machine with just the info you are providing. And then suggest how to fix it. We need as much info as you can provide.
Hope this helps you form a good question so someone can help you.

Bought second hand and the fuse was gone what size fuse dose it take

You don't give much information. What is the fuse for? If we know what the fuse if for (what is not working) we can pretty well guess what the size is. If the fuse is missing, perhaps someone took it out because of a short on that particular circuit. You could replace the fuse and "see if it blows". Better would be to measure the circuit to see if it is indeed shorted. If there is a short, finding it will require help from someone familiar with auto electric circuits. Give us more info, and we can help you find answers. I hope I can help.

Instrument panel works sometines on my 2001 S10 extreme. I bought the vehicle and someone put in a aftermarket faceplate. Now you have to slap the the dash for struments to work...any suggestions?

On the back of the panel there is a master plug-in for the wiring. I'll bet they didn't get it in tight enough for the clips to lock. It could also be that it's not grounding properly through the bolts. Hope this helps.

Lock my keys in suv

ask a friendly copper, or find a local rogue. No im only joking, an auto locksmith should be able to help you if the police cant. I could go into how you could "Rake" the lock or use rods and possibly other methods but it would likely end up you doing more damage to your car. So unless you know someone who is good with locks or you can find your spare keys, thats all the help I can give you.

Need radio code after changing battery for z3

did you buy it from a dealer? or off of someone? if you bought it from a dealer, call them and give them the vin, and your name tell them you need the security code for the radio and they will normally give it to you, some might have you come there just so they can make sure it is you and not just someone calling with your info... if you bought it from someone, and have their info to transfer the title, contact them and ask them if they have the code cause normally they will.... if not then do the same as listed in the begining... cause most dealerships will have it on file..... or in the computer system... or have a generic code to get teh radio working....

97 nissan pickup

bought a 96 nissan last year (2008) and had the same problem for a while. It seemed that it only happened with 1 of the 3 keys i had. my girlfriend sat in a parkinglot for almost 4 hours before someone helped her out although no discovery of what the problem was.

at times the problem was because the wheel was locked and turned too far over. with key in ignition and "turning" it as if your starting the car, give it a nice **** in the opposite direction. this sometimes fixed the problem but was not a solution.

then a friend mentioned that you have to insert the key into the ignition and then you pull it back out JUST A LITTLE BIT, i repeat, A LITTLE BIT. if you do this slowly you should feel it "unlock".
(i dont recall if he mentioned that this was on all cars up to a certain year or just on Nissan's.)

that worked. NOW, WE JUST DONT LOCK THE WHEEL...EVER!!

hope this helps!!
