I went to start my 2005 PT Cruiser and got a loud clicking sound and it won't turn over. Is it the starter?

Possible starter failure if the engine doesn't crank. You can try tapping on the starter motor using a blunt object while turning the key to see if it starts. If it starts, suspect a defective starter motor. If it is a manual transmission, you can push start it in gear

Only the inside latch...no big problem.. When connecting the latch be sure to apply the rod back in its position ..that's the sound you heard..good luck..

is this a manual or a auto version ,if a auto then post question to a american expert ,only manuals here in spain

When you turn the key on the ASD relay should turn on the fuel pump and power the injector, Do this lets cheat the system go to the ASD rely open the cover expose the inside have some one turn the key on does the ASD make contact? If not turn the key on collpase the ASD so it make contact do you hear the fuel pump come on? Now try this just as how you iopen the ASD do the same to the starter relay. Put the car in gear e brake on someone in the vehicle in case the car start and you are in front of it and it runs you over so at least they step on the brakes. Key on ASD exposed as your collapse the starter relay does the ASD relay turn on? Here why if you can control all the relay from under the hood you will need a ignition switch (the eletrical part)

The click noise is the sound of the starter SOLENOID clicking but not contacting to supply voltage to the starter motor.
Now a multimeter test will confirm if the solenoid is contacting and if so then the starter motor is faulty.
It can be due failure of the BRUSH in the motor or the commutator. If so remove the motor and confirm.
Also if the starter pinion is struck the solenoid will click and the motor may not turn.

My 2002 PT CRUISER will not start! There is no clicking when I try to start the engine, and the battery is at as full charge. WTF!

First check the battery connection. If that's ok check the wire's down to the starter.

my 2006 pt cruiser won"t start. the light do come on but it will not turn over just a clicking sound. i drove it for about an hour then went back to it 30 mins later and it didn"t start. just clicking sound.
