Tried to start my 1998 Gd. Cherokee Lmtd. but it seems doesn´t pump gas

Hello, today I tried to start my Gd. Cherokee but it seems doesn´t pump gas..it has gasoline of course, and yesterday night all was ok.

Today I turn it on, it wants to start but no gas is going through I think so motor won´t run.

Can I do something about it?

Thanks and regards. Rick.

Hi, you should start by checking all your fuses,if they are all good ,check fuel pump relay, if this is ok , check fuel filter, if filteris good ,you should run a fuel presure text, this will determine if your fuel pump is ok, good luck.......

U need to check the crankshaft position sensor. The fuel pump will only have power for 2 seconds I till it sees a crank signal. It' controls the asd relay which turns on your spark and fuel

Hello,

There seem to be a problem with the wiring of the car that is why you do not have the fuel milage.

Have it rerunned and trace the connections.

96 Jeep cherokee ran out of gas, re-fuel, won't start. No spark.

You may have to prime the fuel pump. Or replace the fuel pump if that does not work. Why do you let it run out of gas? This is definately not good for an injected motor. It will continue to cause more and more problems. Fuel injectors should never run dry.

1998 jeep gr ch lmtd. when turning, steering seems to ge to far. tires act like they are being pushed rather than rolling.if i replace the control arms (upper and lower) will this solve my problem? Gunny...

You don't have control arms. Should be a solid axle with spindles on both ends. Check your steering stops, or have your alignment checked for excessive toe in/out.

OEM engine block part number for cherokee ltd 1994

Hello Dedi, I'm not sure I understand this correctly, but is it not possible that the 'Z' and the '2' look similar, so that is the problem? If the administration says it should be MZK, can't you put that on the documents? (even if they are not correct about the 'Z'). This seems to be the easiest way to register your vehicle. If you want, I will try to research further, but this seems the easiest way to make the administration happy!

1998 Jeep Cherokee won't start?

I need to confirm some information. The engine is rotating, just not starting, right? When you put the key into the "on" position, do you hear the fuel pump prime itself? You'll hear a hum sound for a couple of seconds. If not, spray some starting fluid into the throttle body and see if the engine starts. If it does start with the starting fluid, then shuts off again, the fuel pump or the fuel pump relay is bad. I'd change the relay first, if that doesn't help, the fuel pump is bad.
