Chevy blazer 95 with stuck trunk

My trunk won't open. I can hear the mechanism move when I press the release button, but the glass won't pop up. I was able to get somewhat acces to the gold latch, but I can't manually pry it open. Is there a trick to it?

It was a while ago but I think you have to get a screw driver into the latch and press gently to the passengers side of the vehicle. Not sure though. Either left or right. Good Luck

where do you insert the screwdriver?

I have the same problem. I can hear the mechanism move, but not open the glass. previously I would hear a loud pop and the glass would open. I don't have an inspection plate, so I guess I have to pull the panel off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tried pushing, pulling, kicking and crying, no luck. Thanks for trying, but I guess I need to try something else.

    Thanks anyway!

I was able to get two wedges between the glass and the plastic trim. From that I used a scope to see inside and find the mechanism to release the window. Once I got the glass open, I removed the handle, and two screws from each side of the trim and removed the trim.

Once the trim was removed I had a small opening and could see the problem. The end of the latch has a small blue plastic (why plastic??) catch that broke.

Rather than taking the door apart and finding a replacement, I heated a screw driver and made a slot in the plastic. Next I used a heavy duty zip tie and connected the two pieces (plastic catch and metal part that opens the latch). I left some slack in the connection and all works great.

Not sure how long this will last, but for now I have the back opening. I will look at replacing the plastic piece, but not sure if a total new mechanism is needed.

Thanks
Stan

Before you put the screwdriver to it try having someone pushing on the glass while you hit the switch. usually a sharp push while the shitch is applied will open the lid.
Ps. dont forget to rate my solution. Thanks

2014 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible r line trunk issue

I would have someone repeatedly press the release button whilst someone pulls up on the trunk.

If that doesn't work, call out out a mobile auto locksmith. They have 'tricks'.

OK I have a 95 Chevy caprice there is a hole where my trunk lock is suppose to be, I bought the part to put in a new lock but I need to get in the trunk I cannot open it at all I need help

- Look at the part you bought to see what motion will be activated to release the trunk lid once it is installed.
- Look into the hole to see where that motion will happen, and find the piece that will get moved.
- Use a screwdriver or bend a small piece of metal so that you can reach the triggering mechanism.
- Press down on the trunk lid to reduce pressure on the latch mechanism, and move the release linkage appropriately.
- Should pop open.

Trunk will not open with the door OR remote buttons. I can it hear it "clicking" but it is not releasing the trunk lid. I do not have a key for the trunk. What could the problem be?

sounds like it could be the latch mechanism is seized(rare but does happen) and you could try forcing the trunk lid open while using the remote button at the same time and it may pop open, other wise the release motor is not working properly(motor making noise but not moving),you should get a trunk key made just for this type of reason(any thing electrical or electronic will fail).otherwise you will have to access to the trunk some how to repair the problem.

Rear glass will not open. push button and makes

2000 Chevy Blazer 4 door with pop up glass and drop down gate. I experienced this exact problem 4 years ago. The glass unlock actuator inside the drop down hatch has a small plastic piece connect to it. This piece pushes the glass unlock mechanism. In order to temporarily unlock, you must pull the carpeting piece down and located in the center is an access hole where your can depress the unlock mechanism from inside, until you find a replacement piece. I recommend the pick and pull lots where you can find a similar make and model blazer with the drop down gate. I was able to get the piece and actuator (just in case) for $5. You will have to disassemble the gate in order to replace the plastic piece which is easily removed from the actuator, but cannot be fixed with glue, even with crazy glue. Have a excellent day and pass it on!

On my 1996 chevy blazer the hatch won't unlock

It should be number 2 in the fuse box but if you can still hear the motor when you push the button than you need to try and pull the top where the lock that holds the glass hatch pull the plastic far enough to get you hand in on the right side of the latch and you will find a lever that you should be able to push to your left I believe and that will release the glass hatch and than open the tail gate take off the plastic inside cover and unscrew the metal plate off of the inside of the tail gate and you will be looking for a blue plastic piece that supposed to be connected to the release motor and the latch if thats broken than you need to go to the auto wreckers find a blazer or jimmy from '95-'97 maybe all the way up to 2000 I believe and basicly do the same remove the blue clip from that one put it on yours and it should work and if the clip on your is broken dont try to glue it, it wont work I tryed everything to try and fix it on mine but you have to get another one once you find another clip it doesnt really take long but yea anyways I hope that helps you out let me know heres my email [email protected]

2000 2dr Chevy blazer hatch window will not open

The actuator is not engaging the lock mechanism. You need to open it manually from inside the truck There is an access hole on the rear end gate pad where the material meets the plastic directly in the center you can feel a soft spot in the fabric backing with your finger.use an awl or ice pick to poke thru the hole and feel for the lock arm and pop it open then unscrew the end gate pad and inspect lock Good luck
