What does code P 119 mean on my Cadillac 1994 Seville STS

P0119 Cadillac Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Intermittent
Possible causes - Low engine coolant level
- Faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor
- Faulty engine coolant thermostat
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical circuit poor connection What about the obd code? The Engine Control Module (ECM) detected an erratic signal from the engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor during the system monitor test Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0119 Cadillac Description The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is used to detect the engine coolant temperature. The sensor modifies a voltage signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM). The modified signal returns to the ECM as the engine coolant temperature input. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increases.

I have a ford expedition 2006 4wD eddie bauer. I have 3 codes, p0119, p1289 & p0010. What can I do to fixed

p0010 Replace the cam shaft actuator. I suggest you replace both sides.
p0119. Check the wires for the coolant sensor and or replace the sensor. Intermittent.
p1289 is for the head temperature. Could be the same for coolant, but they could have the same power and grounds. You may have to check further back in the wiring harness.

2006 kia sedona wont start p119

P0119 is a engine coolant temperature sensor code. If the vehicle is having trouble starting then most likely the sensor is telling the engine control module that the engine is overheating and therefore will not allow it to start easily.

Why do i get engine power has been reduced

Very common to have bad throttle body assembly. (costly)You must have someone hook a scanner up to your vehicle and see what trouble codes are stored . If you have codesp0121, p0119, or p2135, it is bad news for the throttle assembly.(you don't have a throttle cable, the throttle is controlled by an electric motor and attached sensors and when they go bad you get reduced power and those trouble codes I mentioned) So have the computer scanned first.

Having over heating problemsand its idling high

Could be a coolant sensor fault. If the sensor cannot detect the coolant temperature it cannot a) trigger the radiator fan to come on and b) cannot inform the ECU and so the ECU continues the fuel rich injection cycle that is used when the engine is cold and starting up and so the engine continues to idle fast during 'closed cycle'. Check the sensor connection and wiring. If all looks well probe the wires with a voltmeter (if it has 4 wires then the pairs that are diagonally opposed are usually part of the same sensor function). Measure the voltage when engine is cold and again when hot, there should be a difference. If not the sensor is fried and should be replaced. Have the DTCs read from the diagnostics, chances are that some of the codes P0115 -P0119 and P0125, P0126 are logged.

Engine coolant temp interm

the engine coolant tempurature sensor may be failing, the reason why truck stalls when light comes on is that the pcm thinks there is still a problem, then shuts down. after replacing sensor erase problem code with a obd2 scanner. if you do not have access to 1 you can go to any auto parts store and they will turn light off for free.
