Why is my 2007 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD 4.0L cranking and not starting?
Check the low-power positive lead from the battery. There's a big cable that goes to the starter. There's also a smaller cable that goes to everything else. On some cars, there's a separate disconnect that's used to take power off of the engine computer. I don't know how Nissan does it, but the ones I've seen are about a foot away from the battery in the smaller wire coming from the battery connector. If you don't see that, try connecting a scan tool to the ODB connector to see what the computer has to say. That's a lot cheaper than guessing and throwing parts at it. Many car parts stores will let you borrow a scan tool with a deposit, or they'll do the scan for free and tell you what any error codes mean.
2020 Nissan Altima S 2.5L where is it located bank 1 sensor 2 if you have diagram would be helpful
Is this for the O2 sensor, (Lambda sensor), in the exhaust? Those sensors are mounted in the exhaust system before and after the Catalytic Converter.
That engine only has one Bank. It's "V6", "V8" and other "V" engines that have two.
Sensor Two is usually mounted just after the catalytic converter, often on the down pipe from the actual engine or just after that pipe turns under the car.
Sensor One is commonly mounted in the exhaust manifold (header) or in the exhaust directly below the manifold (header).
Nissan Primastar Petrol non starter?
OK, I suggest you go back to basics here. When it does start and run is there any warning lights on the dash?
What EXACTLY happens when you turn the key all the way to the start position? Nothing? A 'Clunk' or a 'Rattle' noise? A very slow, lazy crank over? A fast crank speed but it doesn't try to start? A fast crank speed where it tries to start but stalls out immediately? These answers will give clues to where the issue could be.
You could also get it scanned for Trouble Codes to see if it is something in the vehicle electronics causing the issue. If you have to pay for this get prices from 4 or 5 different places as prices can be very different!
I have a 1.5 dci nissan bakkie
Bakkie only starts when I spray quick start into the throttle but when I switch it off then wont start again until I use quick start again
What can it be
Reputedly a Renault engine and reckoned to be one of the best small diesels. It isn't a good idea to use an ether spray regularly.
The reasons why a diesel doesn't start and from your description doesn't even start when hot (?), can be many from poor compressions, low cranking speed, preheat not working, bad injector spray patterns or even the high pressure pump being slow to raise the main fuel rail pressure to the required level.
The common rail diesel has electric injectors controlled by computer and if the fuel pressure isn't raised to that required in the expected time the computer will not begin injection so perhaps that is the trouble, using easy start will make the engine turn faster perhaps overcoming the problem.
I wonder if it starts with a tow without the ether...
Once what can be checked has been checked and repaired if necessary, the high pressure side will need expert attention with some good diagnostic equipment.
2011 Nissan Juke AC problem
If you are experiencing AC problems with your 2011 Nissan Juke, there could be various reasons behind the issue. Diagnosing the specific problem will require a closer inspection or assistance from a qualified mechanic. Here are some common AC problems and their possible causes:
- Weak or Warm Air Flow: If the air coming from the AC vents is weak or not cool enough, it could be due to low refrigerant levels caused by a leak in the AC system. Other possible causes may include a malfunctioning compressor, faulty condenser, or issues with the blower motor.
- AC Not Blowing Cold Air: This issue could be caused by a refrigerant leak, a malfunctioning compressor, or a faulty expansion valve. Additionally, a clogged or restricted AC condenser could also result in the AC not blowing cold air.
- Strange Noises from AC: Unusual noises such as grinding, rattling, or hissing sounds coming from the AC system could indicate problems with the compressor, condenser, or blower motor. It's important to have these noises checked promptly to prevent further damage.
- AC Cycling On and Off: If the AC system frequently turns on and off, it could be due to low refrigerant levels, a faulty pressure switch, or issues with the AC clutch or compressor.
- Electrical Issues: Problems with the AC system's electrical components, such as fuses, relays, or wiring, can also lead to AC malfunctions.
To diagnose and resolve the AC problem accurately, it's recommended to take your Nissan Juke to a certified mechanic or an authorized Nissan service center. They have the necessary expertise, diagnostic tools, and experience to identify the specific issue and perform the required repairs. Attempting to fix AC problems without proper knowledge and tools can lead to further damage or safety risks.
Remember that regular maintenance and servicing of your vehicle's AC system can help prevent issues and ensure optimal performance. It's a good idea to have your AC system inspected and serviced at recommended intervals to keep it in good working condition.

2016 Nissan Versa Note. Remove the complete door on it please?
This is a TWO person job as car and van doors are heavier than you expect them to be. The door itself is simply bolted in place through each hinge. With the door wide open get a helper to support the door. Unscrew the BOTTOM hinge first where it bolt to the car. These are easier to get to. Then move to the top hinge. You might need a specialist tool referred to as a "Torx" socket. Some vehicles have hinges that are specific as Top and Bottom so mark them if you remove them from the door itself.
Nissan Caravan. What's the problem on it? Idling is good, ignition is good but if I rev it loses power like it will stop. If I'm moving gears are taking time to engage.
If your Nissan Caravan is experiencing issues such as loss of power during acceleration and delayed engagement of gears while driving, it could be indicative of several potential problems. Here are a few possible causes to consider:
- Fuel System Issues: A clogged fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump can restrict fuel flow, leading to inadequate fuel delivery to the engine. This can result in a loss of power when revving the engine. Consider inspecting and replacing the fuel filter if it is dirty or clogged. If necessary, have a professional mechanic check the fuel pump's functionality.
- Ignition System Problems: A malfunctioning ignition system, such as faulty spark plugs or ignition coils, can cause misfires and result in a loss of power during acceleration. Inspect the spark plugs for signs of wear or damage and replace them if necessary. If the issue persists, have the ignition coils tested and replaced if faulty.
- Transmission Issues: Delayed engagement of gears can indicate a problem with the transmission. Low transmission fluid levels, worn clutch components (in manual transmissions), or faulty solenoids (in automatic transmissions) can cause such symptoms. Check the transmission fluid level and condition, and consider having the transmission inspected by a professional if necessary.
- Air Intake or Exhaust System Blockage: A blocked air intake or exhaust system can restrict the flow of air and disrupt the engine's performance. Inspect the air filter for dirt or debris and replace it if necessary. Additionally, check the exhaust system for any obstructions or damaged components that may be impeding the flow of exhaust gases.
- Sensor or Electronic Control Module (ECM) Issues: Faulty sensors, such as the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), can affect engine performance and cause issues with acceleration. A malfunctioning ECM, which controls various engine functions, can also lead to power loss. Consider having the sensors and ECM checked by a professional using diagnostic tools.
Given the complexity of these systems and the potential for multiple causes, it is advisable to have a qualified mechanic or Nissan dealership diagnose and repair the specific issues. They can perform a comprehensive inspection and run diagnostic tests to pinpoint the root cause of the problems you are experiencing.
Remember to address these issues promptly, as driving with performance problems can lead to further damage and compromise safety on the road.
How to remove cover rear bumper on a Nissan Quest 2008
To remove the rear bumper cover on a 2008 Nissan Quest, you can follow these general steps:
- Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure that the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is turned off. Put on safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself during the removal process.
- Locate the Fasteners: Look for the fasteners securing the rear bumper cover. They are typically located underneath the bumper cover, near the wheel wells, and along the bottom edge of the bumper.
- Remove the Fasteners: Depending on the specific model and trim level, the fasteners may be screws, bolts, or plastic clips. Use the appropriate tools, such as a screwdriver or socket wrench, to remove the fasteners one by one. Turn them counterclockwise to loosen and remove them. Keep the fasteners in a safe place for reinstallation later.
- Disconnect Electrical Connections (if applicable): If your Nissan Quest has any electrical connections, such as sensors or lighting, attached to the rear bumper cover, disconnect them carefully. Look for connectors near the edges or inside the trunk area. Gently detach the connectors by pressing the release tabs or using a flat-head screwdriver to release any locking mechanisms.
- Release the Clips: Once the fasteners are removed, there may be plastic clips or tabs securing the bumper cover to the vehicle's body. Carefully pry or release these clips using a trim removal tool or a flat-head screwdriver. Take care not to damage the bumper cover or the vehicle's body.
- Remove the Bumper Cover: With all the fasteners and clips released, gently pull or wiggle the rear bumper cover away from the vehicle's body. Start from one side and work your way to the other, ensuring that all connections and clips have been detached. Be cautious of any remaining electrical connections as you remove the bumper cover completely.
Please note that the exact steps and fastener locations may vary slightly depending on the specific trim level and optional features of your 2008 Nissan Quest. It's always recommended to consult the vehicle's owner's manual or a professional technician for more precise instructions tailored to your vehicle.
Take your time during the removal process to avoid any damage to the bumper cover or the vehicle's body. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing the removal yourself, it's best to seek assistance from a qualified technician or a reputable automotive service center.
