1993 celica alarm goes off all the time

Well what I would start with try setting the valet switch...Every alarm has one the trick is finding it... I would look by the fuse box for a little toggle switch, this is where it most likely will be ... you can activate the valet by flipping the switch and turnining the key.... If you have an L.E.D. that blinks when alarm is armed this light should stay solid...Activating this switch will override the alarm so removal will not be necessary... Good Luck

Car alarm

Not really a solution, sorry. But, my 93 celica had the same problems as your having now. Mine just worked when it wanted to. I had to end up having someone check it out. They basically said "Who the hell hooked up your alarm?" I have no clue, I figured it came like that, but I guess someone took it out and redid it. That may be your problem. Unhook your alarm or take it in and just ask someone.

Do you have a sound system? Most...as my previous owned did, like to somehow hook the sound system with the alarm. But of course when he sold me the car he took the system..leaving the alarm to go haywire.

Location of thermostat on 1993 toyota celica st

there is another thermostat in the car, the one that controls the air conditioning.
i am presuming you are talking about the engine thermostat right? so here it is .

trace the hose that came from the top portion of your radiator. at the end of the hose is an aluminum manifold where the temperature sending units are located. if you remove this manifold, you can see your thermostat laying on top. it is supposed to control the flow of water from the engine to your radiator. replace it and in putting it back, i suggest you have a sealant ready for the right function. a water resistant and temperature resistant sealant that could be use in water manifolds in the engine.

good luck and tnx 4 using fixya,

1993 Toyota celica gt

It sounds like you may have ceased the engine.

When this happens the pistons get so hot they expand inside the engine and can weld themselves to the block. If you can still turn the motor now it means that it came unstuck when it cooled back down. But your cylinder bore is probably scratched.

This problem can be caused by running out of oil or water in the radiator.
Also it could be caused by another problem with either system e.g. Oil Pump or water pump broken.

The bad news is your engine may not be worth repairing. How much do you like the car?

The car does not start

would you know if the timing belt is broke? once the timing belt is broke, there would be no spark at all.

you can remove the cover of the distributor but make sure that the high tension wire coming from the coil is near a ground in order to discharge the spark, it will break your coil if you tried starting it with the wire away from a ground where it can jump. the high voltage would jump inside your coil and break your insulation.

after opening the distributor cover, check if the rotor is rotating. if it is not rotating, then you have a timing belt issue.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Manual transmission

If the engine revs up when you let the clutch out and the car doesn't move then most likely your clutch is slipping and not bitting.
