Sounds like you have a short circuit somewhere, and now possibly a flat battery. Too many possible causes of short circuit. I assume you have checked fuses and relays.

Vehicle struggles to get too second gear from a dead stop, but once past second gear. seems to change gears smoothly. the problem just started, about a month & half ago.

Look at the 1-2 shift solenoid, the valve body itself, the transmission control module and the wiring that connects them together. The problem will be found there.

How to change head light bulb, drivers side, 2006 Saab 9-7X

Easiest way is to stick your hand in front of the battery and take the dust cover off, twist the bulb and done. I'm lucky, have smaller hands! lol, If you can't get to it, remove the battery for easy access. The passenger side requires removal of the aircleaner box.

Replacing headlight bulb in saab 9-7x

Note: Sometimes if you pull the clip UP too far it catches on the bottom of the knob in back and the headlight won't come out. Just wiggle, or push the clip down like 1/32 of an inch or so and it will let go of the headlight assembly.

I have a 2005 Saab 9-7x with a horrible rattle.

Hi
Let me explain the way a modern Catalytic Converter is constructed so you will understand the rattle. The Inside of the modern Catalytic Converter looks just like a Honey Bees honeycomb, it is made out of a very heat resistant ceramic core called the "Brick" the brick is coated with rare elements that react with the exhaust and "clean" it up, this design is very reliable and seldom clogs up or fails, not so with the old Ceramic bead type converters. But here is why the rattle, sometimes the glass like ceramic brick I mentioned cracks into pieces, this causes a terrible rattle inside the Catalytic Converter shell and if it goes on long enough broken brick pieces will plug the exhaust pipe and the engine will either stop running or have a severe loss of power (this is rare), so the dealer is right on the source of the rattle, and that being the Converter. I hope this has helped you to understand the reason behind the rattle.
My experience? 35 years as a vocational school and dealer trained automotive technican with a masters certification from ASE (automotive service excellence) in all phases of auto repair.
