petrol/diesel? any warning lights on. you will probably have to have a diagnostic scan to point you in the right direction. could be anything from a blocked dpf if a diesel to a blocked fuel filter.

Run a diagnostic test with a quality obd2 scanner, this will reveal any present codes and may give you a clear explanation for your issue. That would require a detailed procedure so its carried out properly u can get a manual for help.. I keep getting those for vehicles too.. I know a lot of websites and which one is best for what type of vehicle. and some are just useless, no customer relationship management..

Probably not a relay as some circuits will be hard-wired into the battery circuit. I once encountered a car behaving just like yours and a very disenchanted owner. Over a period of a couple of months it had been attended by a couple of breakdown services and had been several times to various repairers. The fault turned out to be a bad connection where the battery terminal had been crimped to the battery cable. It appeared normal but inside, when I cut it open, the wire strands were black and scorched resulting effectively in a random disconnection of the battery. When the car had started it behaved normally but getting it started was another matter entirely.

In the 2001 Jaguar XJ8 he trunk (boot) fuse should be #10 (10A) located in the trunk fuse box next to the battery. You may need to use your key in the mechanical trunk lock (insert in Jaguar chrome on right side). Good luck.
