This is because you must depress the brake to energize a solenoid to release the shifter, you must get the hood open. sometimes if you have someone push down on the hood as you pull the lever it will open. if not remove the air dam under the bumper and try to move the latches manually by reaching up with something long. i presume you mean the key transponder module for the security system, the system comprises of a key module/antennae module whitch is around the ignition barrel, this communicates with the instrument pack which is the brains of the p.a.t.s. security system, information is then sent around to the cars other modules, ie engine control module via the can network to say ok to start or this is not my key so dont allow to start. what is the nature of your problem? is the pats light flashing?

i had this problem and thought the fuel filter oil filter needed replacing so i have just had a service done but problem is still there but not as bad. been told it could be the AGR valve or a split pipe going to it which recuirculates unused fuel back to burn again. therefore unspent fuel is coming out of the exhaust causing the black smoke. i am still looking for the answer aswell, hope this helps.

i have a jaguar XJ6 but not had to change one on this car as yet??? look in the book and it should tell you ,or check all the 25/30 amp fuses ,if it blows again then check thje wires under the seats for chaffing or even rat damage

If you don't have access to a shop full of special tools like hoists, transmission jacks or can raise the car to a safe working height, then leave it to a pro. AWD's present a whole different set of problems if you're not an experienced mechanic.

TRY SITTING WITH THE CAR AT THREE THOUSEND REVS TAKE IT UP TO FIVE THOUSEND AND BACK DOWN THEN PUT SOME REDEX IN AND RUN IT IN FOURTH GEAR AT 50 MILES AN HOUR WILL CLEAN IT OUT JUST SOOT IN THE EXUEGHST

transfer cases are those bits that are bolted to the rear of a gear box to give ratio changes and drives to front and rear wheels. On some vehicles it can be done in vehicle as the case has external bolts and slides onto a splined output shaft from the gear box . have you had the rear brake's inspected for the hand brake operation , not everything is electronic

this is telling you that the transmission needs attention. It could be from low oil /excessive oil ,overheating, slipping, mechanical faults . have an accredited transmission shop run the fault codes and/ or a pressure test to determine the reason for the light operating.
