Garage replaced O2 sensor TWICE check engine light keeps coming back on

My sister just finally passed inspection with her 2002 Elantra. Same exact problem and the sensor was replaced twice. Here's what you need to do. I know it doesn't make sense but I found it in a tech bulletin. You need to remove the alternator bracket that connects to the block as well as the engine ground and body grounds near the battery. Clean them off with a wire brush and also clean off where they connect to the body of the car. Reconnect them and clear the engine light. My sister's finally passed after that. It did not pass for 2 years until this was done.

Cv boot replacement

2 ways to do this --1 is to remove the axle and fit genuine boot or 2 get a boot from an auto spares shop --cut the old boot off and clip the boot over the joint. Use the rubber glue provide in the pack and clamp the ends on the shaft.. Quicker --easier and costs less.

Airbag light

I also have a 2001 Hyundai Elantra.Awhile back (about 3 years ago maybe) I got a recall letter in the mail saying there was a problem with the airbag if any liquid was spilled in the area around the e-brake. I never did go in and get it fixed. then last year after spilling coffe all over the ebrake handle my airbag light came on. Not sure if it means it is defective or it just need to be checked.

How to replace a heater core in 2002 elantra

Heater core - 2003 Elantra - STOP!! Don't try to replace this core without reading my experience. I started by studying my Haynes repair manual. It included a warning I don't recall seeing in Haynes before: it's a big job -- consider getting professional help. After getting a $1000 quote from my mechanic, I decided to do it myself. Haynes did all of their work and instructions for a 2000 model -- I assumed the 2003 would be similar since there were no alternate instructions. Problem #1: plastic parts in the dash are extremely brittle from age. Many parts were already cracked and a number of attachment points and clips broke off during my disassembly. Once I got the dash out (an extraordinarily difficult process) I was ready to have the car towed to the junk yard when I saw what I was up against: the heater assembly is wedged behind a 2" diameter steel tube that extends from one side of the car to the other and has multiple components -- including the steering column supports, etc. welded to it. I was trying to figure out how I was going to tell my daughter (the owner of the car) that I had failed totally, when it suddenly hit me -- there is an easier way. Here's the good news. Read all the way to the end -- there's a punch line that's even better. Instead of removing the core intact, I cut off the inlet and outlet pipes a couple of inches above the point where they turn upward from the core. (I used a Dremel) They must be cut short enough to pull the core out past the blower assembly. Cut a few more inches off of the remaining pipes still in the car. (yes, you know where this is leading!) Cut the pipes off of your brand new core (yes, that's kind of scary) in the same place you cut the old core -- or perhaps a little higher. Buy some heater hose (5/8" inside diam.) and cut it long enough to span the gap plus a couple of inches. Buy four hose clamps -- the ones that screw tight -- I started with the smallest ones that fit, but they leaked, so I replaced them with the next size up. ("Ideal" brand #5212v from Pep Boys) Well, you can figure out the rest. It worked great. The plastic retainer over the pipes will no longer fit. I broke mine in half (deliberately) and replaced the remaining screw with a much longer one. It holds everything in place very nicely. Now for the surprise ending: All of this could have been done by removing only the glove box and the heater core cover trim. No kidding. In fact, after I discovered it was leaking, I practically re-did the entire repair with only the glove box removed. Enjoy!!

Cold starting noise

This can be several things. Loose rod bearings, valve lifters, piston pin play, etc.Two things you can try. Rislone and then an oil change. Then synthetic oil in the proper weight for your engine. The synthetic oil flows better and if you have oil related problems it should help. But if you have mechanical problems, it will not fix them.I believe you have a 10 year/100,000mile warranty.for that engine. Consult Hyundai about the current problems.

I , i try to find the fuel filter for my hyundai elantra 2001

The fuel filter is located under the rear seat in a compartment above the fuel tank. Also, a filter sock at the base of the fuel pump located
in the fuel tank.

On 2001 models the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump. To replace the fuel filter, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the back seat and take fuel pump cover off to get to the fuel pump. Then you have to 1) disconnect the electrical connector from fuel pump/fuel sending unit, 2) disconnect the high pressure hose and the fuel return hose from the fuel pump and 3) remove the fuel pump mounting flange screws. You can then lift the fuel pump and replace the filter.

Good luck and hope this helps

I have a 2001 hyundai elantra that has a error

Go to this URL: http://www.hyundai-forums.com/138-trajet-forum/89493-trajet-error-code-u0d00.htmlIt appears that another Hyundai owner had the same problem and sorted it out himself. U0D00 seems to be the Mass Airflow meter (sensor). Replace it and see how it performs. Good luck.
