Trunk will not open
2000 jag trunk locked dead battery-use MASTER KEY ONLY to open trunk location is above rear lic plate looks like hex screw ---the valet key will not open trunk-you cannot go thru back seat thr release for them are in the trunk-hope this helps someone
The panel is saying gearbox fault,restricted
It is telling you that is a serious fault detected in the engine or Transmission and the car has gone to into a protected mode of operation so you can get to a repair shop. You could stop by an Auto Zone or Advance Auto store and ask them to read the fault code for you and that will give you a better idea of where and what the problem is that caused this to happen.
NO HEAT FROM HEATER
Try checking the heater control valve. Follow the heater hose from the engine, and as you get closer to the firewall, you should run into it. It is in line with the hose, and should have a vacuum hose connected to it. Apply vacuum to the valve and it should move. If not, then replace the valve. If there is no vacuum when engine running and heater turned on, then check the hose for leaks or the vacuum source.

can't you find a manitenance charger that plugs into the lighter socket? The Ford GT wensie talks about a good one all the time. Not sure how it hooks uo though.

There are drain tubes fitted to let water run out. The tubes drain out at the rear of the front wheel arches. Check that the tubes are not blocked. The sun roof on my XJ8 is slightly "loose" when closed but is not leaking. Sit in the car and have somebody hose water on the roof to check for the origine of the leak.

The radio may very well have an alarm on it. If it does, then disconnecting the battery to put in a new one can set off this feature, and make the radio unuseable until a code is entered. Does the radio ask for a code?
A memory saver (aux voltage input device) can be used to keep enough power in the system so it will not trigger a radio alarm.
If you don't have a radio alarm, then check the fuse for the radio, as it may have blown when reconnected.
