EF Civic Brake light turns off during braking w/lights on

The characteristic you described is almost always a ground connection that is not secure. Check with an ohm meter the resistance between the ground at the light socket and the chassis of the car. Any resistance is an indication of a poor ground connection. Temporarily connect the return(ground) connection at the socket to the chassis using a jumper. If all is correct with jumper in place determine poor connection location and repair. Hope this helps? 932466-4z0serjghd4v3bf10iaehxkg-5-0.jpg

What windshield is compatible?

call any of your local auto scrap yards they can give you an answer to that. but when doing a windshield make sure you get a kit to do it at the local auto parts store first. a windshield is very easy to break on the install and the removal from the donor car. Location of fuel pump

Until 1987 the fuel pumps were located under the left rear of the vehicle Starting in 1989, it is inside the fuel tank. You can access it without removing the fuel rank via an access panel inside the rear cargo or passenger area. You have to remove the rear seat to gain access to the panel.

How to change an inner tie rod end on a honda civic 1.5

you must remove or slide the inner tie rod boot outward on the rod and then thread the tie rod out of the steering rack. there is a section of the tie rod on the inside of the ball joint that has flat spots to get a open end wrench onto. to check your tie rods, simply jack the wheel off of the ground, grab the either side of the tire, and wiggle it towards and away from you. if you feel any play at all the tie rods must be replaced. also a god indication is when the front tires start to wear excessivly on the inside or outside edges.

as for the cv axle, it has a retainer ring on the end of the splined shaft. all thats reqired is to seat the splines in the transaxle (transmission) and the tap (shouldnt take too much) the outer end of the axle with a mallet or hammer. it will pop into place.

In a 88 honda civic when it is hot outside the wether wont star when is not so hot star with no problem?

You probably need to replace the temperature sensor. It is located on the intake manifold, below the thermostat housing. murf427

How can i find out

Hi, this sounds like a loose wire or connector. I recommend you pull the PGM-FI relay up out of it's socket and check to make sure the terminals underneath are not pushed in and fit snug onto the relay blades.

No spark to the plugs

do you have spark at the coil lead or not?
if spark at coil it could be pionts or rotor button or distributer cap.
if no spark at coil it could be a bad coil.

My 1988 honda civic spudders and will shut off

This is often due to a dirty idle speed control valve and throttle valve, please do the following service.

To correct this problem I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

How do I remove the

Retractable headlights must be up. Remove beauty ring (most cars it's chrome and takes a phillips screwdriver). Don't drop the screws. The retractable may have a cover instead of the beauty ring. Same; remove (with phillips?). It might take some penetrating oil on rusted screws. Sealed beam should come out part way until wire connector on back is visible; unplug. replace with new. OR; go to Auto Zone and they might do it for you if you buy the replacement there. Ray (garage owner)
