All automobiles come with a owners manuel. It is normally in th glove box on the passengers side of the interior.Th book will tell you in detail how to change a tire.There will be illistrated pictorial instructions. And wala you are now the expert on your mercury,Sable.

Most vehicles have a cover on the fuse and relay box.On the inside of the cover is a detailed location for identified fuses.Then you can always check the chiltons repair manual at you local library for all fuse locations. Good luck

it could have week fuel pump and at higher rpms it is starving for fuel

Fig. Fig. 1: VSS with connector and driven gear The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is a magnetic pick-up sensor that sends a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the speedometer. The sensor measures the rotation of the output shaft on the transaxle and sends an AC voltage signal to the PCM which determines the corresponding vehicle speed.

TESTING

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disengage the wiring harness connector from the VSS.
3. Using a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM), measure the resistance (ohmmeter function) between the sensor terminals. If the resistance is 190-250 ohms, the sensor is okay.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the catalytic converter Y-pipe.
4. Unplug the VSS electrical connector.
5. Remove the VSS protective heat shield.
6. Remove the retaining bolt from the VSS.
7. Lift the VSS out of the transaxle.
8. Remove the driven gear retainer and the drive gear.

To install:

1. Inspect the O-ring on the sensor and replace if necessary.
2. Install the driven gear and the retainer.
3. Place the VSS into the transaxle.
4. Tighten the retaining bolt to 36-53 inch lbs. (4-6 Nm).
5. Install the VSS protective heat shield.
6. Attach the VSS electrical connector.
7. Install the catalytic converter Y-pipe.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.

its got a weep hole in front that will be shooting water out of it

i have seen these break shifter cables often

po113 codes on all fors is a idle air temp sensor. i would check the sensor which is located before the throttle body.

One or more of:

1. Your coolant level is low
2. The valve from the cooling system to the heater core is stuck
3. Your heater core is clogged

check your MAF sensor, disconnect it and start your car, if it stays on, shut it off and replace your MAF sensor.

confirm if the gear selector knob is working correct. If it is in parking position or if it looks like in parking and is not correct.Push the gear knob more to parking position and try to remove the key. Other wise call an expert to check the system.

If the car does not have a security system, I would check for voltage at the starter from the battery and from the key switch.The power from the key switch goes thru the neutral safety switch before getting to the starter.

if you purchase a cheap obd2 scanner from *Bay or *mazon these codes can be cleared with the unit, as for what they mean just search 1999 mercury sable p0113 p1451 & the answers will be there on google
