2006 Subaru Outback horn will not blow in center

There is a "clock spring" that allows current to get from your horn button, through the steering wheel. Due to the spinning of the steerring wheel. This is a wound up flex circuit, and they can break. Sounds like yours has an issue. It's located behind the steering wheel and air bag.

How much is the torque

  • You don't really have to use a torque wrench on an oil plug.
  • Make sure the gasket on the oil plug is not overly worn, dried, cracked etc.
  • Make sure the gasket is on the plug.
  • Provided the plug goes into the pan fairly easy just snug it up. Not to tight or it will strip.
  • When you are done wipe the plug with a rag and just inspect the plug fo leaks (oil filter too) after you turn the car on.
  • If it does not leak your good to go.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony
