they made the new key and you called they flashed it for that new key so car will not recognize old key in ignition get another key from they if you want another key to start car ok. I have a 04 Lexus RX 330 and that how each key has different functions.

Now alternatively if you are mechanically able and have the tools this is a very simple procedure to perform if you want to save the money. You will need to jack up the vehicle and drop the gas tank (2 or 4 bolts hold up brackets that support the tank). Once you have the tank dropped you can slip out the fuel pump and replace it as per the instructions on the box. Then all you have to do is test it and replace it in reverse order. You can also save money by ordering the parts online, such as ebay. Whether or not you attempt to do this yourself at least you have an idea of what needs to be done now.

The trac off light is on due to the engine light, the trac system is shut down whenever the engine light is on due to the reason that the trac system can not operate correctly if the engine is not operating correctly so inturn the computer shuts down the trac. the engine light is on due to a problem you will need to have the computer scanned for codes. the computer will turn the engine light on and store a code of what it sees as a problem, the computer is always scanning and watching the engines operating system and when it detects something wrong it stores the code or codes and turns on the light, you will need to go and read the codes, there are many autopart stores that will scan it and give you a readout of the codes for free. get the codes and i will help you futher. good day.

FUEL PUMP

THE FUEL FILTER IS UNDER NEATH THE CAR AND THE AIR FLOW SENSOR IS ON TOP WHERE THE AIR FILTER IS

I just had the same thing happen to me. Took the car to the dealership to ensure that I was putting money where the money needed to go. Turns out that I have a bad knock sensor that needs to be replaced. Not an easy fix. Garage/mechanic comparisons range from local garages (TN) from $700-$900. Hope this helps.

Lexus Is very particular on thier settings for the timing.It has to be on the mark, with no slack. They will run, But if the belt is not super tight it will throw timing faults. When I do timing jobs I use a pry bar and put as much pressure that I can on the belt tensioner.before I tighten it down. This assures me that the is no slack and actually stretches the belt. very little stretch, but it does. Since I started doing this I haven't had any problems with any timing jobs that I do.

some cars you have to remove the tail light assembly to do it, the best way is open your trunk and see if you have access to the light bulbs, you have to twist them to take them off, good luck

Most likely for this issue you will need to take it to the dealer.

Take the bolt out, clean it and the bolt hole and replace the bolt with some Loctite on the threads. Use medium strength so that the bolt can be removed when needed.

Catalytic Converters run very hot only when too much fuel used.

Find the cause of overly rich fuel condition. Over fueling will also cause running problems you are experiencing.

You need to check the Short Term Fuel Trim with a scanner. If higher than -12% you have an injector staying open too long or too high fuel pressure.

This is the corrective strategy the ECU uses to trim the fuel to lambda. ie: 14 to 1.C/0%

If it is too lean, it would read + instead of - .

Change plugs, air filter and fuel filter. Computer controls all the timing and such. Depending on mileage ( over 100,000) the timing belt needs to be changed.
