yes the ecu SOFTWARE is inane and does race the engine with TPS errors, a real pain in the ash can that. "classic Renix BS"
ISC sticking, mine did every 10,000 miles, for 500k miles 2 cars.
i use Russian, gun lube on it to stop it , until about 25k miles.
the ISC is a stepper motor , has a cone valve, it loves to stick
and it will either stall or race, based on pure luck of WHEN it stuck.
(knowing how its used, is key, ill skip all those facts now)
THIS ENGINE IS MAP BASED, called speed density
and if there is no air, there will be no speed.
air is key here, on a hot start, there is very little air flowing.
a bad TPS is worse cold due to all that extra air.
no scan tools
no flash codes ecu.

i used, dry spray gun lube, that is used in -50F hunting in the gun actions, it looks like Teflon when sprayed on , brown.

the isc is used driving too.
at foot off gas. pedal (its and air pedal in EFI world)
it opens the ISC to prevent passenger neck stepping.
with no air at all this would happen, due to TV 100% closed and engine pumping losses. (sucking against the heard closed TV plate)
so the ISC is used, at all times, except at cruise or w.o.t.,
clean it and report, there is no reason to replace it ,the new one
sticks for same reason. cone to seat. (gunk from PCV CLOUD)

things to watch for.
1: cracked exhaust manifold, makes 02 sensor go nuts.
2: exhaust clamp from H3LL , below bell housing, it breaks
allowing exhaust to swing like a pendulum and allow cat to shake hard , causing cat breakup and clogs. Engine didnt like stuffed exhaust.
Good:
real good brakes, with sst + teflon guides in calipers, nice nice nice.
with fluid purgers Dot3/4 brakes lasted 15 years. (pads excepted sure)
never ever own or buy french EFI. "Renix" cars.
