The best way to reset the car is to disconnect the neutral terminal from the battery (in the back next to the spare wheel) for at least an hour. This will completely reset the car except for major warnings like abs and airbags. As this resets the engine management, you may find the car runs better or in some cases worse depending on how you drive it.The ecu will eventually learn how you drive the car and adjust the engine timings accordingly. NOTE when re-attaching the neutral terminal, there will be a spark - this is normal and always makes me jump!
if you make the change you have to use all the electronics from the XC, and i mean all, you will need to strip the engine down to a long block then transfer all the components from the XC to the T-5 engine. but other than that it will work, and if the treat it as a long block you will not have all the problems you had when you replaced the mirror.
one coil should run two cylinders but they should either be under the plastic engine shroud or on dack of fire wall follow the plug wires back to the coil....r u sure its the coil and not a bad plug wire or bad plug
First thing would do is check just how securely the battery leads are attached to the battery. Next have a look at the earth strap from engine to car frame connections. A complete cut out as you describe can only occur if there is sudden complete shut down of the electrical system, this would also account for the ECU not recording trouble codes, it needs at least to be on before it can record anything. The next check point would be the main fuse and starter relay and then the starter switch itself; there has to be break/loose connection somewhere in the 'on' circuit. This is not a 'short' otherwise the main fuse would have blown.
Needs to be reset w/OBII scanner. Any good parts store can do it for you. Keep in mind, if they reset and lights come back on you have a problem that needs to be addressed.
Hello, any pressure in between is fine, these are recommended pressures, i personally look at tyre wear when putting pressure, if its wearing on the outsides it means it has not enough pressure, if it wears in the middle it has too much pressure, as a general guide 32psi is used at most tyre shops, extra 100kg does not make much differance to a 2 ton vehicle, otherwise you would be changing tyre pressure every time you fill up your fuel tank!!!!
If this were anything else, I would tell you to ignore, but the VOLVO is made to be one of the safest cars in the world. This means that they have thrown alot of airbags in your car which are tied into your srs ( Supplemental Restraint System).
I would try the dealer to reset it or try a garage with a powerful code reader. have them make sure that the car is okay and then also make sure that when you do any electrical work, please, remove the negative terminal of your car.
p0234 is engine over boost condition.
According to Volvo P0234 is a turbo control valve. Maybe a wiring issue? Did you do a hard reset after clearing the code? hope this helps!
hey , there is a locking clip that you have to pull out some to unlock the assembly from the steering column so that to old unit will slide off of the ingition key assembly. The clip is on the opposite side ot the electrical connector.
i hope the following video is of some use. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NijL6h5D3l4
have both the v and the serpentine belt replaced (u have to remove 1 to get to the other anyway)and the tenstoner i would leave that call for him to see how bad they are
On my wifes volvo there was a chargeing fuse. You might want to check 4 that. I know I kicked myself for days after replaceing a $200.00 alternator instead of a $2.00 fuse.
Hello Under the brake pedal is a push switch which is activated everytime you brake, It could be fairly high up so follow the length of the brake pedal up and you will see it. You have to have a supple back but it's a fairly cheap and easy job to do.
I would open your drivers front door there should be a label inside on the door or the door jam stating what Volvo wants the front and rear tires inflated at follow the manufacturer label inside the door for proper tire inflation.....
