2000 Chevrolet Lumina Unlock radio

If you have the security code it's easy. The code is something that either you or a previous owner entered. If you don't have the security code a trip to the dealer will be in your future.

Unlocking the Theft-Deterrent Feature After a Power Loss

Enter the code as follows; pause no more than 15 seconds between steps.

  1. Turn ON the ignition. LOC will appear on the display.
  2. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
  3. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree with your code.
  4. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
  5. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the code matches the secret code you have written down. The display will show SEC, indicating the radio is now operable and secure.

Entering the incorrect code eight times will cause INOP to appear on the display. Wait an hour with the ignition in the ON position before you try again. When you try again, you will have three more chances (eight tries per chance) to enter the correct code before INOP appears.
Deactivating the Theft-Deterrent Feature

Enter the code as follows; pause no more than 15 seconds between steps.

  1. Turn the ignition to ACC or ON.
  2. Turn OFF the radio.
  3. Press the 1 and 4 buttons together. Hold them down until SEC shows on the display.
  4. Press MN and 000 will appear on the display.
  5. Press MN again to make the last two digits agree with your code.
  6. Press HR to make the first one or two digits agree with your code.
  7. Press AM-FM after you have confirmed that the code matches the secret code you have written down. The display will show -- -- --, indicating that the radio is no longer secured.

Entering the incorrect code will cause SEC to appear on the display. The radio will remain secured until the correct code is entered.

AC/Heat issues in 2000 Chevy Lumina

If steam is blowing out when the heat is on, the heater core is leaking into the car. If water drenches the floor after running a lot on a humid day, the condensate drain tube is plugged. It is a rubber tube flattened on one end connected to the air box half mounted on the firewall under the hood. Check the coolant level in the radiator to make sure it is at the correct level. If it's not, then suspect a leaking heater core.

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina 3.1 litre engine.

Why it called DexKILL Your best bet take it to a qualified repair shop ! Once the thermostat kicks in the temp lowers which is great. I know we have to replace the thermostat The thermostat doesn't kick in , it opens !!!! And if the temp. goes down when the thermostat opens ,it's working ! The redish clay looking stuff is rust , air got into the system . You probably have a bad radiator cap . Now you need a compleat cooling system flush ! Your heater core is plugged .

Erratic Flickering of all electric devices (headlights, dashlights, AC)

Did you use a Delco rebuilt Alternator? The ones you get from so called discount auto parts stores are junk and they may be the cause of this problem, monitor the output of the system with a DVOM meter, does the voltage fluctuate? Have you check all the chassis grounds? They are the biggest source of this type of issue when the Alt. is ruled out.

Car will not start

Ok you have power at the battery, do you have power to the plugs. Given the limited information provided about the no start. Start from the basics. Fire, Fuel and air, with fire and fuel being essential for a start. Fuel is sent to the combustion system, air is introduced to atomized the fuel, the spark-plug fires and the atomized mixtures explodes to initiate the starting process.

Car jerks when changing gears

You do not say if it is an automatic or manual transmission (clutch). I will assume auto. This could be several things. It may be something as simple as low fluid or possibly the transmission filter needs to be changed and the old fluid flushed out. Or the transmission could be starting to go bad and would need to be rebuilt or replaced.

Brake light problems on a 2000 chevy lumina

Will your Center High-Mount Stop Light (CHMSL) illuminate when you depress the brake pedal, but the lower/outer lights will not?
-- Do you have to hold the signal lever in a certain spot to get the turn signals to flash?
-- Do you have to hold the signal lever in a certain spot to get the lower/outer brake lights to illuminate?
-- Will the signals work in one direction, but not the other?
If you answered yes to any of the preceeding questions, your turn signal switch is likely malfunctioning.

**One more question before we continue: Is the turn signal lever not "cancelling" (returning to the "off" position) after you make a turn? If this is the case, you have a broken "cancelling spring."

Before you begin disassembly of your steering column, verify the turn signal flasher is not malfunctioning. If your brake lights work fine, but not the signals (either direction,) then it's likely the flasher is burnt out. The flasher itself is located underneath the dash near where the steering column passes through the firewall
