Your problem could be the DIC fuse blown out
No current at the DIC
Bad ground at the DIC or the DIC itself.
Hope it helps
If you can't move the shifter into PARK OR FIRST GEAR manually I would say you need to adjust the cable shifter. Try to move the shifter while someone looks at the transmissions cable underhood and see if the cable move normally and not out of the adjustment lock.
1- At the transmission end cable unhooks the cable from the transmission.
2- Try to move the transmission's selector manually from Park to
D1.
3- If you cannot move the selector then your problem is inside the transmissions.
4- If you can move normally the selector then you have to adjust the cable.
Wiring, schematic, electrical diagrams, fuse diag, error codes etc are basic contents of these online books they have here on this website www.reliable-store.com I have attached. Must check
it out
If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your
car I know a website that has every info on all vehicles and vehicle problems, with their solution In detail.. it's www.reliable-store.com
Is this an aftermarket key opener. ? The brain box for this unit is some times mounted behind the left kicker panel by the left foot of the driver. And they get wet from foot water ie snow. Rain. The yr of ur car sounds like this unit could be water damaged. Have a look. Is u see green stuff allover the contracts thats ur issue. As well some times older cars remote fob controller is not isolated from other sigs. Ur truck does it only pop open when parked in one location ie home or work u might be picking up a similar radio req as ur button for truck lid as they have different radio freqs to control different things
The basics for a rough idle, check for a leak of some kind, fuel--egr--vacuum leak. Check and clean anything to do with idle air system.
How long since a tune-up?
Traction control cannot drain your battery. Once the car starts it is running off of the voltage supplied by the alternator. Traction control only activates when the car is in motion. As for the hard start..check your starter. It may be on its way out and pulling more voltage to start then the battery can supply especially when it is cold. As for the bucking it could be anything from timing to plugged converters to a bad sensor. For that you need to put it on an analyzer
They key is not programmed... The car is reading the transducer and it is not giving off the correct code to the computer to start the car. The key has to be programmed. If you have the other original key you can try this. Use the original key , turn ignition to on, let set for about a minute. Take the key out and immediately put the new key in and turn to on then to start. The car just may program the key for you without going to the dealer. Good Luck.! Remember you must have one of the orginal keys to do this.
Could be a variety of systems, however I would suggest the following first:
Don't waste money on High Octane fuel or injector cleaners. These have very little to no impact on performance anyway.
Idle Air Bypass or Idle Air Control Valve.
You can often test this while at idle with AC off. Then turn AC on to determine if the RPM or idle changes. If no, then suspect the IAC valve.
It can be bad or just be very dirty (ports blocked).
Remove, clean and replace to see if that helps. If you see a lot of carbon buildup, then get that all cleaned up.
If this does not help, then replace with a new one and go from there.
Let us know, then we will try something else.
Learning how to test these systems an learning how they are suppose to work before replacing parts is what should be done , an if you don't know how you should take it to a qualified repair shop. The Temp sensor is an input to the PCM - engine computer .The PCM turns the fans on by energizing three relay's .Hooking up a factory scan tool that can view sensor data is how we do it at the dealer , Plus scan tool has bi-directional controls . I can energize the cooling fans with the scan tool ,check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's .Turning on the A/C would cause the PCM to turn on fans on low speed . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info year , make , model an engine size ,. Under system click on engine , under subsystem click on cooling fans . Click the search button then the blue link .

My first thought with a GM 3.8 is control module, this can be removed and taken to any good parts store and tested, that said could be any number of things from a coil pack to a camshaft or crankshaft sensor, but after over 25 years in the automotive parts business, control module would be my first thought. Good luck.
